I managed to get a sage G3 iMac (450Mhz) for $25 but it won't power on. I haven't tried much yet, and plan on leaving it plugged in for the next few days to see if that can bring some life into it.
I noticed that as soon as I plug in the power cable it starts making a ticking noise towards the rear of the machine. It's not powered on, and I haven't pressed the power button before it does this. In the attached file I have amplified the sound, but the real sound level is closer to what you would hear if you held a watch to your ear. Is this a known symptom of anything in particular, or something to be cautious of?
