I'm Back!

I finished my 2nd tour of Iraq and am now back in Georgia! I dragged out my Quadra 605 and have it running again. Today I got my PM 9500 working with the Sonnet G4 800 MHz upgrade (had to drop the RAM down to 1 GB).

Next up is to get my IICi and LC II w/the Apple IIe card running again. I'll be using Dr. Bott's KVM switch to use the same monitor and keyboard on them all.

Everything was in my storage unit and I spent a couple of days looking for Mac items. Found most items but there are a few things I know I have that are still AWOL.

Is WiFi possibe on a Quadra 605?

Thanks!

NIGHT STALKER
Welcome back to the world!

ISTR that there's an interesting topic about surfing the web with compact macs and such that ought to be applicable. IIRC, the trick was using a modern machine over a network connection, so if you're WiFi limited, maybe you can use a wireless machine, hook your MicroQuadraFeetsMac™ up to it and surf!

Hopefully, someone will jump in with a link to the proper topic/forum, I'd like to take another look at it now that I've got an internet connection at home again.

I'm on the PM 9500 with iCab 3.0.5!!!!! System is 9.2.2

I tried logging in with IE 5.1.7 but it doesn't render the MLA index page correctly :(

And I'm running wireless 54g from my dining room! Wo Ho!

Next is to try the Quadra 605!

Yeah, you have to change the theme to "subsilver2" under Board Preferences in order to get it to work. Don't know why we don't "fix" this theme. (As in make it HTML 3.03 compliant or something,) oh well. :)

As for WiFi, your two options would be to either setup a second machine to act as a wireless ethernet bridge/router. Or to purchase a wireless ethernet bridge such as this one. Been wanting to get one of these myself for a while. ;)

And this is all assuming that the Quadra 605 has an ethernet card. If it doesn't, then you would need a Mac (preferably a PowerBook so you can use a wireless card in it,) that has a printer/modem port so that you can use IPNetRouter to route your wireless network to your Quadra 605.

go to ddwrt and use the router list to see what router you need to buy. Purchase router and install ddwrt on it. From there you can configure it to act as a wireless bridge/client.

I used a old WRT54G to hook my Xbox up wirelessly without spending 100 bucks on that wireless card thing.
