So got this board from another member for free.. wow, a lot more work then I anticipated. Board actually looked good at first glance and after cleaning. I recapped it and it gave a memory error. Now, i usually have to take off one or two vram chips on these iisi boards as cap juice usually gets bad underneath them. Sometimes one of the onboard ram chips have to come off for same reason. After inspection, two legs were missing on ram chip, so bingo! As i was taking off vram chips two legs came off each of those, so yeah cap juice did a lot of damage. Thankfully no pads or traces were affected, and thankfully i had some extra donar parts from other boards to complete this one. Works perfectly now. So, when your recapping.. check all chips as well as traces.

Good work! I had to do the same on a IIsi board I restored a few months back. Death chimes which led me to inspect RAM area. Fortunately, replacement chips are still available. All were making good contact, and no corroded legs, so I had to guess which one was bad based on trial and error. Lucky me, it was the first one I replaced which was the culprit!

Thanks! I have now basically come to the conclusion that is there is a lot of cap goo and i can see it through the legs of chips then all this chips come off. I then clean pads, legs of chips and put back on.. that cap goo keeps working its magic if you dont get it all. So, yeah more work, but in the end thats ok.. i took sound chips off this iisi as well cause cap goo..
