I just got back from my grandma's house, and along with having an awesome weekend i also scored my passed-away grandpa's IIgs Woz Edition!

I just got back from a long day at work so i'm tired so i'll get details up later.

Nice. Is it a complete system? Software?
complete minus a iigs monitor, so i had it rigged up with my 6220CD TV machine so i could use my workbench monitor to use it, but that was only temporary. I'll get a more permanent setup going soon.

came with two HD's, one is a 20MB from apple which has gs os 1.3 on it along with a few games and applications. i also got a big box of cables and diskettes which i have yet to sort through.

with this new job i probably won't get a chance to do anything cool with it until this weekend.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your grandfather.

Which ROM does that machine have?

Which type/version of SCSI card?

Anything else inside?

Why do you think that the dark box on the top is a hard drive? It is kinda small for a SCSI hard drive enclosure, but it would be cool if it was.

Heh, thanks but my grandpa passed away waaaaay back in 2002. actually went to see his grave over the weekend and plant some red flowers in front of it with some of my extended family.

anyways, the IIgs has ROM v01, and i'm not sure about the type of scsi card. i'll check it ina bit and get back to you.

and it has two scsi-esque cards, one labeled "M" and the other "HD", and whenever i try any combination of devices other than having the black box hooked into "M" and the apple HD plugged into HD it fails to boot. its rather odd, i really have no idea whats in the black box. i just figured it was an HD because i can hear something spinning up inside when i turn it on that sounds exactly like an HD, but its very light. so it could be anything really.

When I saw the picture my first thought was "that's a modem". But a modem shouldn't sound like a hard drive. I'm sure that you would also recognise it by looking at it's behind. Any part numbers or ports on the black box?

OK...i'm a dumbass. the "M" plug was a super-serial card, and the black box is a SCSI laptop HD box.

The IIgs also comes with a copy of Appleworks GS.

*edit*

Pics. Just check out the last 10 or so uploaded pics for the cards and the drive.
