IIe card in a Quadra 700?

I've been trying to find out definitively whether the Quadra 700 supports a IIe card before buying one (the Quadra - I already have the IIe card). Anyone have experience with a IIe card on a Quadra 700? I read somewhere that the PDS slot in a Quadra 700 is not the LC type, and so the IIe card wouldn't work? I've also read that the Quadra 700 can run in 24 bit mode, which the IIe card requires.

If not, anyone have suggestions for a host machine for the IIe that also has builtin ethernet? Thanks!

I don't think there was a machine with IIe card support that also could support Ethernet at the same time. :(
I saw an external SCSI ethernet adaptor for a Mac on eBay recently.  I thought about getting it to have play with.

That would work wouldn't it with a IIe card in the PDS slot?

Theoretically it should.  If that doesn't work, you can also try to source an AppleTalk to Ethernet bridge that supports MacIP.

I have heard that the presence of a comm slot card in a 575 disables the PDS. Your mileage may vary. BUT THERE IS A SOLUTION!

IIe card in the PDS + a Farellon serial (appletalk) to ethernet bridge. I have one. (I beieve a couple other companies may have made these as well.

Honestly I never tried using the IIe card's appletalk capability with this bridge.

Nope. The PDS has control lines on it that Nubus does not. And the ROM routines accessing them is different. Too bad. I had a similar idea years ago.
