Probably my most recently worthwhile nabbing off of Crigslist, for 80, an iBook with a dead screen..

took a little work, but was able to dissect the inverter cable and found that the DC ground was severed. a good resoldering and insulating, and she was good as gold.

case was a mismash of lost screws from the previous owner giving up on the repair, but was at least able to find enough in my collection of parts to rebuild it properly.

best part- came with airport card too :p

Congrats on being able to repair the inverter board - that sort of thing always impresses me a lot, I could not even replace the inverter board, let alone repair an existing one.

You need one of these

(Extremely long ebay link, so I shrunk it down so as not to PO the admin of this site)

At any rate, this guy has found the original supplier of Airport cards to Apple and they are still selling them in generic form. Your Mac will even recognize them as official Airport cards. He has two types. One that duplicates the original exactly, and another that is slightly smaller for machines where space is more limited.

I saw those, but i'm pretty certain that they're not originlal MF cards, but rather modified retail cards.

Technically any card that can use the original wavelan drivers will work in an airport slot- I'm using a full-length wavelan silver in my clamshell (to get addition reception, and it works wonders)

The sony card (which I'm pretty certain that may be) works as well, and when the antenna is popped off it has 2 antenna jacks, just like the apple original... also a rebranded wavelan - unique only because of its miniature antenna

the taped over card and wifi logo in the corner lead me to believe these are just modified retail cards.

I have a box of unlabled wavelan cards, and there is no logo on the upper side- actually no sticker at all.[/i]

yeah, I saw those a while back. kinda like the Fairport card surge that is no longer around. However, being a stickler, I wanted a genuine apple brand.
