I was at my father in law's and he told me he found an old computer at a garage sale years ago. What a surprise to see it was an Apple

Apple II A2S1-32624

Looks clean on the outside but I haven't opened it yet.

Will post pics soon

According to the first serial number reference that popped up in Google a machine in that range would be more a "mid-production" Apple II from 1979 or so. (Around the time the "Plus" was introduced, which was identical except for the lid label and BASIC ROMs.)

When you peek inside the big giveaway for an "old" machine is one with movable 16k/4k select blocks at the end of each row of RAM chips. About the time the Plus was introduced they started soldering them permanently into the sixteen K position, and later they were eliminated entirely.

thanks I had to pull it up and it popped off. Its definitely Apple II with the 16k memory selectors

Looks like some keys dont work and some question marks at boot. Commands seem to work but I think I need to reseat chips and clean it up
