Durosity’s conquests and collection

I often forget that not everyone has seen Spaceballs, and that my encyclopedic knowledge of the movie and ability to recite the entire thing by memory from start to finish are not common attributes.

Not a new conquest, in fact I’ve had it since 1999 when a friend from the US it to me! The website is of course long since gone!

I recently picked up an AppleVision 14 from a PC collector that lives near me. He found it in an abandoned house that he was demolishing, behind a hidden door with a 8100 and many 486 PCs!

It does have a fault, originally there was no picture on the screen.. I’ve done a full (bar one that I can’t find a suitable replacement for and it tested very close to its specs) recap and that’s resolved it but it still starts cutting out after a few hours of use.. but to be fair its not like I’m gonna use it for prolonged periods anyway!

I swapped it with him for a fully working Apple Multiplescan 15AV display which he was quite happy with so he can use his 8100!

This is mostly equipment I’ve had for ages, but I’ve only just finally got around to setting it up.

Top is an XServe RAID, nearly fully populated with HDs varying in size between 250GB to 1TB.

Middle is an XServe G4 slot loading. It’s a 1.33ghz single CPU model. Not currently booting and I’m not sure why.. need to do some diagnostics when I have time

Bottom is a XServe Intel 1,1 which is fully working and the XServe RAID is setup with it at present using a couple of fibre channel cards.

I don’t actually have any use for any of this at present and it costs a fortune to run.. but it’s fun to have sitting in my rack!
