Duo 210 won't boot from floppies

So I finally got a Duo MiniDock and Floppy Drive for the Duo. I tired installing Sys7.5 from a set of genuine diskettes but after a few seconds (head moves twice) it ejects the floppy and tries to boot to the corrupted Sys file on the HDD.

I've used these disks before on the Q605 and they worked fine, but the Duo just won't boot from them. Ideas? Thanks!

Potentially stupid question, but did you try booting the Q605 from them AFTER the failure with the Duo 210? Unfortunately, past performance is no guarantee of present functionality with vintage gear.

Failing that, how certain are you that the drive is working properly? Even if it looks OK it may have alignment or cleaning issues.

I have two floppy drives and the internal drive goes bad like any other. Are you sure it's not the culprit? I had to change mine out.

It might be. If I pull the one out of the Q605 or PM6500, will that go straight into the case or at least be able to use the cable.

Also, what kind of permeant replacement drive am I looking for? A SuperDrive?

Yeah I tried it after the Duo's drive failed. The drive might be out of alinement like you said since it was shipped to me.

Thanks again for the help!

I think it's the same mechanism as in the PowerBook series, just pop the fold down cover off, the case kinda slides apart to hive you access. If there are any screw I don't know, mine didn't but that doesn't mean anything.
