Dual booting Apple Lisa

Well, I saw this video just recently:

It's a Lisa 2/5 with the external 5MB Profile.

I have a Lisa 2/10 with MacWorks XL 3.0 installed on the Widget.

My Lisa runs of the H/88 rom, does not have the hardware mod for the square pixels, so should be able to run both MacWorks and LisaOS.

In the video they show the Lisa booting standard into Lisa OS, and with the help of a floppy, it boots into MacWorks, which apparently also resides on the Profile.

I would really love to be able to do the exact same thing!

So standard booting into Lisa OS from the 10MB Widget, and with the help of a "MacWorks bootfloppy" boot into MacWorks

Anybody ever achieved the same?

Yes. I have some kind setup on a XProfile disk.

If you boot “normal” you will boot into LISA OS. If you insert the MacWorks floppy it will boot “MacOS”… whatever system you have on the hard disk.
But long ago. I have to check how I did this…

When you carry out a fresh install of LOS (3.x and maybe earlier versions?), it gives you the option of sharing the disk with MacWorks. I've never tried it, but I suspect that's part of what's needed here. I would not expect there to be a way to take an existing MacWorks or LOS installation and convert it to the sharing arrangement.

Yes. That is what I used.

You first install LOS 3.x and choose the option to share the disk. After the install of LOS 3.x on your harddrive you reboot and test if the LOS 3.x is OK. Then reboot with the MacWorks floppy and a system disk. You will boot off the system floppy disk, but will see the hard disk. Copy the system folder to the hard disk. Next time you boot with the MacWorks floppy it will boot system direct of the harddisk.
I also don’t know if any “PartionMagic” to do this afterwards.

Thanks guys!

Once I have the snapshot of my widget, I will do the installs as per your method.
I think the guys at BMOW ships an SD card with most of the needed Lisa software.

If that all works, there is one last piece left is the big clean-up, re-assembly and seeing what I can do with the parallel card.

About the paralel card.
You could try to buy a Profile hard disk. This is what I did. I now have a working widget and two working Profile disk. The Profile disk is also a very nice attribute with a Lisa. The way it starts up… realy nice!

Been looking for several weeks now for a profile, would indeed love one but don't really see them pop up!
