Hello i just got a powerbook 180 and its dead for real. No sound no chime nothing. Tried removing ram cleaned it nothing at all. Any ideas? Even the nice 120mb scsi drive is dead. Tested it on a 520c. Thanks and the adapter is the same one i use on my 170 that works.

That doesnt seem like a bad display. that seems like a cable issue or an incompatible display.

Well i took it apart and there was a black burn in the backlight bulb.  I have never had a powerbook that just straight up wouldnt turn on. I think somebody put the wrong voltage and fried it? Cant think of anything else.

black marks on the CCFL bulb simply means high hours. Basically, it was used. Alot.

Hey mate, did you fix the display by any chance?
I have a Powerbook 180 with the same issues.
I tested the ribbon cable for continuity and everything seems fine.

no i had to toss it and use the rest for parts. somebody fried the logic board on it. you could buy a parts 180 and swap the boards and screens.
