Is the 8500 / 9500 boards known for showing no signs of life? I recapped 8 computers so far including a 9500/200. No issues. I decided to do the 8500 / 150 and everything went very well, no pads lifted, no cap leakage or corrosion of any kind. Did the recap as more a precaution. The PSU works, tried it with a spare 9500 board. I hook up everything to the 8500 but no signs of life, deader than Elvis. Tried the button on board, new battery etc. Is this something that happens with these boards? I dont have the original video card. Thanks in advance..

I did check all new caps for good solder join, and all IC's for any solder splatter etc etc.

Way back (1999) we had a couple 9500’s that had this issue and I believe it was traced to a cache issue. The 8500 has replaceable cache vs the 9500’s soldered so may not be relevant to your situation.
