NIGHT STALKER
Needs a custom base unit and a slide out drawer runner'd worktop with grounded metal/antistatic surface setup, but I'll be able to fit 5 Compacts or what-not hack victims and goodies across the rolling shelf bottomed support.
. . . with current projects already in place. Lower cabinets had sold out, but were too tall for worksurface project anyway. Barstool baseline height spec. nailed down. Bolt up bar rail height to be determined.
Power strip for work surface grounding/antistatic strap and USB power on board. Matches my triple-decker toolbox. Never liked the rear trunk design of these newfangled monsters. But notion of industrial velcro mounting a four foot LED worklight or some such to lid changed my mind, options under consideration.
Raised platform surfaces for close up work will help. Grounded soldering pan is a bit too deep as is.
High, white pegboard backstop to keep trunk lid up is a must. For closed top mode it will bolt up behind compact cubic on shelf below. Bolting up the articulated VESA mount with slide mount plate bodge on hand for peg-panel is a no-brainer.
Shelf mounted fume extractor and hot air rework station goodies on shelf atop the slid-back in work surface for buttoning it up will get me set up for now and a bubble wrap cocooned treasure chest for the eventual move. I'm more than happy with this $50 conquest!
