Connect two external drives to Color Classic?

On 15 minute break again, so made a quick dash to the other building where the CC and external HDs are waiting. First item was to switch the ID of one of the external HDs to “6”. Viola! That did it! Thanks Phipli for the second prod to make that change! What is the mystery about switching to an ID # “6”?

Also attempted to load the SCSI Probe utility by dragging it to the “System Folder”. Nothing doing. This is what I am still getting. Any suggestions?

Its just less likely to have been used.

You downloaded the checksum file - that is a file used to verify the download matches what is expected if you are worried about that, which you aren't. It isn't the actual program / control panel you are looking for.

You want the one that ends with ".hqx".

I've attached it for convenience. Once you uncompress it on the CC, you don't actually need to install it to use it, just double click it.

Thanks. There were several in the column and I chose the one at the top.

SCSI Probe loaded fine once I had the correct download to work with. It shows the internal HD as ID: 0. The Apple external HD ID is: 5, which was indicated on the drive’s id selector. The other, off brand HD was ID: 6, which was recommended by Phipli. As to what the conflicting ID may have been, I do not know. I manually changed the second external HD from ID: 1, then to ID: 2, and lastly ID: 3. None of those IDs should have been in conflict with either the the internal HD or the Apple external HD. Regardless, both external HDs are now showing up on the desktop as desired. Thanks once again for the great advice in how to rectify the issue. Much appreciated!
