nabbed a dead (GLOD) 2400c on ebay to use as parts for my original one that still works, but neede new plastics, and the seller contacted me that he had a second one for parts also with GLOD, both were in decent cosmetic shape, and managed to convert the 3 parts/dead systems into 2 complete systems, and have a pile of parts left for possibly building another.

Windfalls come in sometimes wondrous ways. I was just offered an eBay Second Chance purchase of an iBook 600MHz/256MB/20GB/14" with a totally dead LiIon batt. and flat backup batt., a month after I had been outbid for it at AUD180-odd. The poor seller had re-'sold' it four times since then, to zero-feedback non-paying scammers from you-know-where. It turned out to be completely functional on the AC adapter when I got hold of it in FireWire target mode, is in excellent cosmetic and hardware condition, and now wears Panther/9.2.2 quite happily.

So my wife has (ironically) graduated from a 1400c/233MHz/64MB/4GB with 8.6 to the iBook for her M.Crim. lectures and library work.
