I’m using OS8.6. As far as I know there is no keychain access on 8.6. At least, it’s not on my system. Right now I go into the chooser and select AppleShare, click connect to server and type in the IP of my NAS to transfer files.
When I get to that point though, the username and password screen auto fills with an old username and the password blank. Seeing that keychain access is off, I’m not sure how it’s autofilling that old username. I’d like it to save my new one instead of having to type it every single time I go into it.
Further, I wanted to ask if there’s a way that I could easily automate that entire process in the chooser. There are server names on the right side in chooser but nothing gets saved there with AppleShare. I also know that I can mount the network drive upon startup by ticking that box when logging in, but I was thinking there may be a way to just point and click and have it all log in and mount the network drive on my desktop in a flash.
