Character palette glitch leads to possible prank opportunity

I must have changed resolutions or something because my character palette's title bar was squarely under the menu bar in 10.4.11, so I couldn't move it. There's no keystroke to zoom the character palette because of its floating nature and only the title bar is draggable. After a brief period of brainstorming to reposition this window, I thought, what if I HIDE THE MENUBAR. So I whipped out AppearanceSamplePPC, and sure enough I was able to drag the palette's window to an accessible location and turn the menu bar back on.

Which leads us to a nifty discovery. You can use this method in reverse on other windows to make them troublesome to access. The menu bar will be gone only while the application that hid it is in front, but you can Apple+drag windows in the background. :beige: This is like a built-in "Stupid Mac Tricks"!

The top of a window is limited to the bottom of the menu bar, if visible, or the top of the screen if invisible. However, if you move the window to the top with menubar off and then turn the menubar on, you can then drag the window higher if it's a window that can be dragged from the bottom. Subsequently, you can hide the menubar again and move the bottom of the window as high as possible and turn the menubar back on again. The window is now completely hidden by the menu bar!

This "hiding windows" trick does not work in all applications. I believe that it works on Carbon apps and not on Cocoa apps, though who knows for sure.
