The original iPods came formatted either Windows or Mac - you had to pick when you bought yours.

I got my first iPod at MicroCenter as a refurb. It was formatted Windows, but you just needed to connect it to your Mac with iTunes and reformat.

I have one as well!

It needs a new battery and hard drive (it'll work up to a point, but there must be some bad sectors, as it will seem to freeze when certain areas get accessed). It was a hand-me-down from a friends' sister.

In it's original configuration, it had 4 GB (the original drive was unbootable, so I replaced it with some sort of spare, which also is defective, but the areas which hold the software seem to be okay (last I checked; I should charge it up and check again)).

Let's bump this thread! I just got a Power Mac 8100/80AV, and it's in pretty good condition. (Although there WAS some Spindler plastic in the bottom of the case... )

Even had a MaxellBomb inside, and it was intact!

I just opened up some 7100's I have and all maxell bombs intact so that was a load off.

I can definitely agree... Getting that logic board out was a pain in the butt. I ended up with more Spindler plastic in the bottom of the case after I was done with it.

And the conclusion: Getting a Power Mac 8100/80AV halfway across the country really does a number on it. There's Spindler plastic EVERYWHERE! The front CD bezel and blank bezel are broken off, the front plastic part has a hole in it, not to mention the entire back plate is broken off...  :disapprove:   (Well, at least it was better than some of the LC 5xx series that I've seen on here!)



Does anyone know why there are four "Steward" chips on the logic board?

Would a Q840AV case kinda-sorta work to get everything back into shape?

I ask because I have a spare I need to get rid of. It's not perfect, but it's better than yours.

The problem you will have is that the power on button seems to be in different locations on most 800/840av/8100/8500 cases so changing them out might be a problem. The drive covers are the same (excluding the caddy loaders for the 800/840av).

2 part epoxy to fix the cracked faceplate and some new bezels will probably be all that you need.

Just got an SE/30 today, in okay condition. It has those stupid velcro strips on the front for those "screen protectors".
