IIRC, that's the classic Macintosh II through IIfx topper.

With anything larger and you need the crazy bridge thingy to support the weight.

LOL! Try holding you phone 90 degrees clockwise when you're taking pics  .  .  .  at least the thing's not velcro'd to the ceiling.

the Maxell battery has either some corrosion, or oxidization on the tip of it. Good job removing it! I have a completely intact maxell battery that doesn't even have any signs of break down or gunk starting on it. Guess I'm really lucky?

I find that my phone will take rotated pictures if I have the phone at a sorta angle, and isn't completely rotated. It is annoying. When that happens I just rotate them the way they are suppose to be in the Photos app (in iOS; I have an iPhone), takes care of everything.

Yep. The Maxell tip has a lot of rust on it, and the battery holder was also corroded.

I actually predicted that it would have a Maxell in it... and felt like I was disarming a bomb as I took it out.

Hah! That is a good analogy. I feel the same way when removing capacitors from these old boards, and there by removing a source of many issues.

My ImageWriter II had a near pristine box, unfortunately the seller thought it would be a good idea to NOT rebox it, so the original box from 1986-87 got sent through FedEx's 2017 system as the primary box.... that didn't end so well :( . Also, the original packing was not enough to protect it either. It is kind of cool that they shipped it the way that it would have originally been shipped (Loved seeing that shipping label from '87 on that box!), but at the same time, I think it is better to preserve it. Oh well...

I just got an iMac G4! :D But it's broken, apparently. :-/ And I can't test it because I don't have a power cord. :(

Got a power cord!

The iMac G4 was able to boot to the ? folder, but I heard some buzzing that repeated a couple of times. Connected it up to the Blue Dalmatian, and my fears were confirmed. The hard drive was either corrupt or wiped. There was no system folder. Ugh.

And since it's the USB 2.0 machine, it has no support for OS9. So there goes that idea...

EDIT: I reversed the Target Disk Mode, using the HDD of the G3. I got the G4 to boot 10.4.11, and it's running pretty smoothly. (Typed this edit on it!) Now to reformat/swap the HDD, get a DVD copy of 10.4, and do something else...

got the iMac G4 working again... let's hope *knocks on wood* it continues to work.

I basically cloned the entire hard drive over a FireWire 400 cord, waited for about two hours, and now it works. (Because I don't have any need for a new 10.4 CD...) Even connects to our Wi-Fi!

I got a Mac Classic II today. I turned it on, but there was nothing from the screen. Which makes me think it's an analog board failure...? IMG_0144.JPG I honestly don't know, but here's a picture of everything laid out!IMG_0142.JPG

And yes, that Maxell is intact.

CAPPPPPSSSS!!!!! Get that logic board recapped now!

The AB will also need caps.

I have a spare Classic II for parts if anything is needed.

If the capacitors have never been replaced... then Yikes!!!

It might not be too far gone yet though!

I just cleaned the logic board, but there still looks to be some corrosion. If there ever was a time for recapping, now is that time! :)

Just got an iPod Classic, and it's the ORIGINAL! The one with the mechanical scroll wheel.

Although it weirdly states that it's Windows formatted. So I'm guessing the firmware was updated...?

And also, an original iPod touch. That bumps my iPod collection up to six.IMG_0195.JPG
