Bodge Wires on LC III Motherboard?

Tim just sent me a pic of his machine, which also contains the wired leads. I think it's safe to say that this was at least a semi-regular thing for the LC IIIs, whatever the reason.

The issue probably was a PCB design error that made it to the final production run. Could have been something completely show stopping, i.e dead on arrival logic boards, or it could be a stability fix of some type that was incorporated in later revisions. Bodge wire jobs make a lot more sense than just throwing out fixable boards.

I have similar wires on my LCIII and remember the old thread from when I got mine and had to look it up!

Yeah must have been a factory PCB error that needed mass repair.  Fun stuff.  The repair must have been decent because it seems like most of them are still working!

Here's a pictures of both my LCIII's, one with the "fix", one without (REV D board). Those boards are european, so the problem with early/bad board production was worldwide.
