BlueSCSI naming convention question

Hello! I am working on getting a BlueSCSI to work on my Mac SE. I want the compute to boot from the BlueSCSI but I am not sure which SCSI ID to use in the name. Right now I have the hard drive file named "HD60_512 System 7.0.1.hda." Here I am using SCSI 6 because I heard on a YouTube that the boot priorities go in reverse order. Would ID 6 work? I have also heard someone on Youtube say that I should use HD20. Please let me know.

Both should work, depending on the other scsi devices on the chain.
boot indeed works in reverse order

from the supported systems in the documentation:

SE
SE's generally work though a small number of users have reported that some NCR chipsets may not work in the SE.

What is the problem with the blue scsi in your SE ?

Thank you for responding! No problem yet. I haven't installed. I am still working on assembly of the BlueSCSI. I was looking for help with just the formatting of the HD file. I have a couple different Macs to try it on in case it doesn't work in the SE.

have assembled a number of blue scsi's and tested om SE/30 and LCIII with different HD image files.

Works great.

Only problem I had was when I got some fake STM32's which would only work at a very low speed. I sent the fake STM32's back.

I use my BlueSCSI with a Macintosh SE without issues. I've never paid too much attention to SCSI IDs: I have 4 or 5 different volumes in the same memory card, I just make sure they have different IDs. Their order does not seem to matter, in my experience.

On the latest firmware(20211215), you don't need to specify the LUN or sector size, just the SCSI ID, so you can just name it HD6-System 7.0.1.hda or HD2.hda or whatever. If you purchased your BlueSCSI after around December 15th, it should have that firmware. (The old naming will still work fine too). You can also see the firmware version in the log file it puts on the SD card

As far as the SCSI ID, I believe you're correct in it will try to boot from the highest ID first. If it's the only SCSI hard drive you have connected to that computer, doesn't really matter what the SCSI ID is, as long as it's not the same as another device connected.

The NCR chip compatibility seems to affect a very small number of SEs. Like, 2 or 3 reported cases of it not working.(myself, and a few others involved in the bluescsi project do have SE's with the NCR chip that work successfully)
