Best RaSCSI configuration for Macintosh Plus/SE

I have been playing around with RaSCSI on my Mac Plus and it has been loads of fun. But I am noticing that some apps run choppy. For example, SmoothTalker sounds off, like there is a 0.1 second pause in between each syllable. In addition, the performance seems to be much slower compared to my SCSI2SD v5.1. Has anyone experienced a similar dilemma? If solved, how did you go about fixing it? What drive did you emulate and what software did you use to initialize it? I want to get the fastest possible experience out of the little 8 mhz 68000.

What type of Raspberry Pi are you using? Also, on the Pi, could you check /var/log/rascsi.log to see if there are a bunch of error messages being logged?
