What a gorgeous system, I would want the IIe style mouse too; I really hope you can get it sorted. All else fails head over to Apple Fritter forums, those guys know everything Apple II to an impressive degree.

Can one solder on a header for the keyboard and power supply on a "newer" IIgs board for this conversion?

I've been wondering the same. Using a ROM 3 board in a stealth IIgs (iie) case seems like it'd be a really neat thing.

Confirmed: Mouse card was indeed faulty. Swapped it for another and it now works with slot 4 set to "Your Card" and with the correct mouse

Thanks for the kind help sorting this out!

Hey, victory! Great to see :)

If you're not keeping the faulty mouse card or don't have plans to repair it / use it for parts, I'd have a go at [fixing] it. I have several II's but only one mouse card here, and a decent shot at fixing it. No pressure but if you're willing to send it my way let me know; it wouldn't go to waste.

Good thought but the eBay seller is going to kindly accept a return in this case.
