• Updated 2023-07-12: Hello, Guest! Welcome back, and be sure to check out this follow-up post about our outage a week or so ago.

Another incorrect spec. eBay arrival today, its not WUXGA as listed, it's 1440p!

NIGHT STALKER
I thought I'd killed my 1920x1200 WUXGA display whilst moving everything around (more on that later) and was making do using my rack mounted 42" 1080p panel for the time being. What a mess! Hit eBay and found a 27" panel. I've been using a really nice 24" and thought what the heck, it less than $30 more than the 24" panels and only $100 shipped so I ordered it.

Hooked it up to the Win10 browsing machine and saw settings recommended 2048x1152 not 1920x1200! Much searching later I discovered that strange resolution is QWXGA and I'd never heard of it. Lots of people were pulling their hair about only getting that as maximum resolutions on their Dell Panels. Turns out that's a pre-set for my new $107.50 Dell U2711b. As is 1900x1200, but that looks just awful as its scaled, not letterboxed.

I think my Notebook tops out at 2048x1152 QWXGA on this nice 2560x1440 WQHD/1440p Display.

That later thing: Went to unhook the cords from the 24" 1920x1200 WUXGA display I'd borked . . .
. . . in moving it I'd merely tripped the rocker switch underneath.
