Yes I know, I need to finish the write up of my brother's SE30 restore thread... job for the weekend. Anyway having been somewhat bitten by the bug after having that machine, I decided I wanted one of my own. Not wishing to endure the pain or expense of a compact I managed to get hold of a IIci. Then lo and behold, like buses another cosmetically less brown one appeared. I'm currently waiting for a VGA adapter so I can do testing (because meh newer vga monitor).
Specs: I've no idea until I can power up.
2x Cache Cards
Other than One came with a hard drive. And one also had the internal fan/ shroud. Both came with ram which I was using to diagnose a suspected fault on the SE30 (it was fine)
I lucked out, the second machine had a network card and I managed to find a cheap ish Mac II colour video card. If they work, great, if not I have Bluescsi coming out my ears.
The first box had an 8 port ISDN card in it. (not keeping lol)
Mercifully both machines, although dirty and more than likely needing a recap had no battery damage (one removed, one dated 92.) Both replaced with MAcbatt (as SE30)
I have enough probably to get at least one good machine here. One case is 1989 with the moulded label/spoec on the back. The other is 1990 with a Printed label as per other macs of the era. Since the 89 machine just needs a clean externally I am likely to keep that "box" - the later one is a bit brown.
I cannot see ANY difference in the two motherboards, either date or otherwise. I WAS going to get a reloaded board but they seem in too good condition to scrap for that so a Recap will suffice.
PSU's
1 x DELTA Electronics SMP-120EB (112.2 watts according to the label).
1x ASTEC AA15831 Apple Part # 614-0004
I've no idea what is the better of the two, there's a Pico based replacement using the same case for the ASTec.
(I have a spare Pico and bits) so am not messing with PSU recapping.
Any thoughts, further info, Questions etc.
