A Pile Of iBooks

I went to Computer Works and picked up eight iBooks at $10 each. They need some stuff to make them useable (Battery, Charger, Ram, HD and Keyboard) which will probably make the total cost of the iBooks more then buying them on ebay, but I bought these for the purpose of restoring them for fun in my spare time. The original specs are as follows:

G3:

12"/600-700MHz/128MB/20GB/CD-ROM-Combo

12"/700MHz/128MB/20GB/Combo

12"/700MHz/128MB/20GB/Combo

12"/900MHz/265MB/40GB/Combo

14"/700MHz/256MB/30GB/Combo

G4:

12"/800MHz/256MB/30GB/Combo

14"/1.33GHz/256MB/60GB/Combo-SuperDrive

14"/1.42GHz/512MB/60GB/SuperDrive

I can't wait to get these fixed up. I will keep the 1.42GHz iBook G4 and I might keep the 900MHz iBook G3. The rest I will probably sell (Any Interest?).

This is going to be a fun month!

Cool!

That will be fun - I love working on the G3 iBooks.

Once you've started stripping down machines etc and have an insane pile of bits, make sure you upload a photo or two!

Wow great deal! Usually ones in my area sell for parts iBooks for freaking $50 (Reg Goodwill, not Computerworks)

If you get one of the G3 iBooks working, I'd buy it. As long as it doesn't suffer from the GPU problem. Drop me a PM. I miss my old 12" iBook.
