Widgets are very delicate on almost never work. So…. Please relax and wait until you know what to do. BLU or NeoWidex can be booted from a floppy or FloppyEmu. You can do some analysis. But I would not rush things.
Yes! That is fantastic. I have a hat, but until now i didn’t manage to get it working for “real” Macintosh and my AppleTalk network. Only for vMac. The router I didn’t try yet but I love to try.
@tashtari
Sorry for not answering earlier. Buzzy week before Christmas!
For as long I'm working on my MacIP projects (over 10 years now..) I'm dreaming of a replacement for the hardware LocalTalk Bridge. I would really like to see one which combines the ability to use it for filesharing...
timemachine account is backup / file sharing related and x2gouser is for Linux Desktop. See the web site https://www.macip.net
But sure...feel free to modify to your use! That's what I do myself too!
Sorry. Bit late with my answer. Since the MacIPpi stuff is my work an answer is needed:
About more users:
- yes more users are around. You can use the MacIPpi for many things. Also as full blown desktop and even for emulating a Macintosh. But that is only for advanced use (which I personally...
I had a Chooser error on my "BlueSCSI hda image disk setup" and restarted. I got a Sad Mac. I tried the same disk also on BasiliskII...but also a Sad mac. Anyone knows what to do? Is it possible to delete something so the disk is usable or should I just make another disk?
Ah. Good idea. Will do. Would be great to have this disk backuped. I’m using it now for 33 years in row and it has a working SE network card configuration.
If anyone know how it is possible not to have access rights on certain parts of the disk? The answer is still nice to know!
I'm trying to backup my internal hard disk of a Macintosh SE to a BlueSCSi card. I get the message:
How can I make the files "visable"? I want to copy the whole disk so I have a backup of all system stuff ( network card, etc)
OK. Added eth0 to atalkd.conf
And now it works. I thought not touching the conf was the best… but this works fine. Now see if I get my services running!
Absolutely! The FastPath was for me the reason to want to have a modern replacement. That is why I developed things like MacIPPi. So you can have a router in your AppleTalk network to the Internet.
Congratulations!!! Really cool story!
Could you make a picture of the three screws? I’m not sure which ones you mean. I have a widget with a little bit the same problems….
Looks like my “banging head” widget drive. Difficult. Hope for the best.
I had some succes with NeoWidEx.
In NeoWidEx you can give some commands to the disk where it can come back to live.
I made a small movie about it. https://www.youtube.com/user/tjabring
I also had some succes by...
23. Use a macip.net solution, like a MacIPRPi, to connect your old Macintosh to the internet, even over LocalTalk. Do file sharing with any device such as iPhone, windows computer, modern MacBook to your old Macintosh.
Many tools for power users on board.
Have a look at www.macip.net
I would definitely like a replica widget. Not just a SD /compact flash replacement, but the “real thing”. But the market is off course very small for a device like that. On the other hand most parts of the Lisa cards are also made new.
