So I have a CD card setup as a extra hard drive for my 3400c (running 9.0.4) Every time i start it up it ejects it. Is there anywhere in settings I can change that so it doesn't? Just want to reduce wear and tear and not have to mess with it so much.
It's funny when i loaded an OS on there...
Still.....$700 for a Performa. Seems quite steep. If he wants to see anything close to that he'd need to take a chance and put it on eBay. I'd be surprised to see it go for that much there as it's not a rare or desirable model. Still....nice complete packaging to be sure.
Someone give me a...
This is on my local CL:
Macintosh Performa 631 CD & Monitor - computers - by owner -... (craigslist.org)
I want it so badly, but not at this price! I'm really tempted to make him an offer though.
What do you guys think is fair for a local pickup like this?
Great post, very informative thank you!
I hate subscription services with a passionate so looks like I may have to she'll out for the 2019 home and student. Found it for $125 on Amazon which is $25 cheaper so that helps.

I reset the PRAM, NVRAM, SMC chip, and checked if it was a corrupted PList file. None worked. The drives are good it's a bug somewhere. After resetting the SMC chip I get 5 second of audio from the disk before it cuts out. And yes it mounts on the desktop.

Yep...my hunt continues.
I tossed my old battery packs because they were foaming and about to get rabid. Should have saved the damn wires. Oh well...they pop up for sale on ebay from time to time, just have to keep an eye out if someone starts making them again.
An O2! We had one of these in my high-school imaging lab (grant funded.) You could make a 90's action movie with some decent CGI that looks better than half the stuff these days, lol.
Sweet...helluva find. I did love my cube but had constant issues with it; so eventually parted ways.
They can be made reliable if you tinker enough; good luck with this one and enjoy!
No; but i'd certainly snag one if i could find one, and for my 3400c as well.
I've heard they can create some bugs/issue here and there with the 1400 (can't remember exactly what at the moment, but i do recall hearing about a few potential items), but i'd be willing to take the risk and...
