I'm planning to update my downloads page and add some new guides to my website for the various SCSI to SD options that are now on the market.
As a first step, I'm creating a list of current options and doing a basic feature comparison.
Reading through the guides for BlueSCSI and ZuluSCSI, I...
I have an accelerator card for the SE that is missing the plastic guard that typically goes around the pins for the PDS connector.
Is there anywhere I can purchase these, or will I need to take it off something else? Picture is an example of what I'm looking for.
I recently picked up a collection of external APS enclosures missing their power adapters. They use 5-pin mini-din connectors.
Unfortunately the enclosures don't say much other than 90-240 VAC 50-60Hz.
I tried looking through the apstech.com site on the way back machine but didn't find any...
I picked up a 660av that seems to be missing part of the extension rod that runs from the front of the case to the powered supply, or some other piece.
It is to short to toggle the power on and off.
Does anyone have a 660av and can take a picture of where the white extension rod in the case...
I'm trying to track down some information on the Formac accelerators to add to my list of accelerators. I managed to find some information in the MacWelt magazines from 1993 (German vesion of MacWorld) for most of them, except the LC 475 version that Bolle has cloned. Unfortunately there is...
Not sure what's going on at the moment.
I have everything working on my LC 630 DOS under system 7.5.3 with PC SETUP 2.1.7
But when I try to use OS 8.1 the PC SETUP control panel will not load. I select the PC SETUP control, then the screen just flashes for a second all the desktop icons...
Experimenting with a new SCSI2SD setup with a FAT32 formatted SD card containing volume files (similar to Andrew's exFAT version).
One thing I discovered as part of my experimentation was a couple of sizing quirks when I use HD SC setup:
HD SC setup automatically reduces 2GB volumes I tried to...
So, I'm working on something for my SCSI2SD to make it easier to work with following the same idea as what Andrew did with an exFAT SD card.
To deal with the varying "actual" capacity of SD cards my plan was originally to have a 29GB file that people can RAW-write to an SD card that will create...
Does anyone know where I can find a copy of Volume 6 from Restoration CD for Market Software Series mentioned on page 35 of the 1996 Service Guide:
https://archive.org/details/service-guide-macintosh-computers-volume-iv-march-1996/page/34/mode/2up
I've found Volumes 1 to 3, but that's it. If...
I'm working on a few things for my site and I wanted to link to manuals for early releases of System software. But... I'm having difficulty finding existing scans online for the various revisions. I'm hoping to track them down through this site so can get them added to the internet archive if...
Last year I started reaching out, through LinkedIn, to people who worked for, or even owned, some of the companies from the 80s and early 90s that produced accelerators and other addons.
My shot in the dark paid off, Lincoln Henthorn, one of the executives from NewLife lent me his box of old...
Has anyone seen one of these before?

I came across it looking for info on Dos Mounter

Hi everyone, I'm hoping other owners of DaynaFile drives can help me create an inventory of the jumper settings used by DaynaFile for the various floppy drive configurations.
I already have the info from pspencer's page, but I want to add to that table.
I've already found info for a solo 360k...
I recently acquired a SE FDHD with a Mobius 030 board that I'm trying to upgrade with a full 030 CPU and 16MB of 60ns ram.
I'm having difficulty figuring out how to remove the existing ram from the Mobius board. Instead of the usual SIMM clips the Mobius 30 pin sims seem to be locked in place...

I was doing some research on the DaynaFile for a blog entry I'm writing and came across a mention of the Apple PC 5.25 Drive, has anyone ever seen one of these?

Poking around the Dayna file website and found mention of a 4.1 EPROM for the Daynafile II.
Anyone have that version (bottom of the page),

So I got the next level working, TCP/IP over AppleTalk over a null modem using ARA PS and IPNetRouter on Basilisk II. You too can experience dial-up speeds in 2020...
So, I've been playing with my null modem cable a bit and got X/Y/Z modem type transfers working last month between my Macintosh and Windows 10 PC using Basilisk II, https://www.savagetaylor.com/2020/11/24/usb-serial-file-transfer-from-basilisk-ii-to-a-68k-macintosh/
