Who is going to Vintage Computer Festival East (May 18th to 20th)?

I know this is a shameless plug, but there are a bunch of vintage Mac and Mac portable exhibits.  I also know the museum got a whole bunch of compact Macs running to sell at the consignment sale as part of a fund raising effort, so now is the time to prove compact Macs are like Tribbles and...

Anyone have a DC42 image of Lisa COBOL

I can't seem to find a good copy anywhere, just links to the documentation and pictures of the box.  I'm looking for the version that is native Lisa and not one for XENIX. Thanks in advance, Cheers, Corey

    400k drive microswitches

Ok.  My new to me external 400k drive doesn’t see when a disk is inserted.  I cleaned and lubed the ejection mechanism already.  The drive was pretty dirty, so I’m guessing the microswitche(s) are dirty.  Before I take the whole drive apart, are these optical because they look like a U shape...

Got a Lisa 2/10 on the way and have some questions....

So I have a Lisa 2/10 that should arrive any day now.  Since it's a 2/10 I don't have to worry about the battery leaking, but what do I need to check/change before I attempt the 1st power on?   I know it's a good idea to replace the X2 safety caps in the power supply as I have heard they will...

Is there a Laserwriter driver version that doesn't use Localtalk?

I want to be able to send postscript from my Mac 128k to the serial port so it can be sent to an Postscript enabled HP Laser printer that doesn't have LocalTalk. Thanks, Corey

Has anyone used a Raspberry PI as a bridge to print from Serial port on Mac

Now that my Mac 128k is up and running, I am now up to my next challenge.   How do I get it to print on my newer Postscript capable HP Laserprinter now that HP only ships printers that have USB and Network connectivity.   Was thinking there has to be a way to use Raspberry Pi to do this by...

Pics of my finished Mac 128k

Forgot to take before pictures...  but it was more yellow than than a yellow banana peel. Anyway... Internally completely recapped Analog and CPU board including the Paper Film cap. Not, the best pics... I just noticed one corner still looks yellow in two of the pics, but in the real world...

Complete Mac 128k recap completed, question before power on

So I have completely recapped both the analog and CPU board including the safety "X" capacitor.    Next step is power on.   Any tricks to adjusting the voltage?  Should I turn it all the way down or put it in the middle, then power on and adjust or will the crowbar prevent any damage if the...

J1 analog board connector question in Mac 128k

This being the first Compact mac I have ever opened up I didn't realize till yesterday when I went to recap the boards before reassembly that a previous owner removed J1 connector on the analog board and hard wired the wires from the tube to the analog board. So my question is, to be more...

    Quick Mac 128k capacitor question...

Work has me near a local electronic parts place today, so I wanted to stop in and get replacement electrolytic caps for my Mac 128k.  I have all the caps for the Analog board already, but figure before I put the motherboard back in I should replace the axial electrolytic caps on the motherboard...

Removing Serial Number stick on Mac 128k before de-yellowing

So I am going to do a full restoration on a Mac 128 I just got.  I will be doing a complete analog board recap and servicing the drive.  While I have it apart it makes sense to remove the horrid yellowing.  I plan on using a 3% peroxide solution and immersing empty case, keyboard case and mouse...
