Has anyone had issues using the ActionGS "internet starter kit" IIGS gs/os 6.0.4 image? I am trying to flash it to my CF using cider press (tried unzipping using both Stuffit and Windows' utility) and cider press throws an error that the file is in an unexpected format
It says it's a 2mg...
Solved! Please see this splinter thread under Software where we got the job done:

Solved!
Firstly, a huge thanks to you for helping me get oriented, and to RADmark on the piscsi Discord for helping me across the finish line.
For those who read the thread above, I think I would summarize the solution as follows:
Mac configuration in System 7.0.1 that works concurrently with...
Ah, sorry, thats an old image - I reinstalled based on a tip in the wiki and that warning didn't show up the second time (but no connection - that's where we are still at). The piscsi controller page says AppleShare is active. I'll keep you all posted on what the piscsi devs say!
I see, I took this as a generic warning - I'm using all the recommended hardware with their latest board and software and haven't done any custom configuration of the Pi. I think I need to see what the piscsi folks say. I appreciate all the guidance on this
Well, like I said in my post above I followed this link exactly using the easyinstall.sh instead of manually configuring it: https://github.com/PiSCSI/piscsi/wiki/AFP-File-Sharing#user-content-Connect_with_DDP_AppleTalk
It may (seems to?) Not actually work right, so perhaps I should try to...
Yes I know the internet has nothing to do with share, the reason I keep mentioning it is it is proof that I have a network connection with the Pi in the first place (without which i couldn't access anything it is sharing over the network).
As in my images above, I have it set up just like you...
There's a chance I'm confusing a lot of things - this is my first Mac!
Let me posy some images to show exactly what my setup is, and this is what I am trying to do here (not TCP, but accessing shared drive using AppleTalk DDP)...
Just to clarify - I actually have no problem connecting to the web using either option. I switched to EtherTalk Alternative upon your suggestion - it didn‘t break anything, just didn’t result in AppleTalk shared drive from the Pi showing up
It's not, unfortunately - only EtherTalk Alternative and LocalTalk Built In are available in the Network control panel
I do now this from the piscsi wiki and am wondering if I'm out of luck simply because I'm on wifi with the Pi... I can bring it into the lab for a wired ethernet connection to...
Ok, so nbplkup did fail the first time. I ran the suggested commands and the second time it didn't return anything (error or otherwise)
On the Mac, just to be sure, I'm currently using "Ethernet Built-In" in MacTCP (not "EtherTalk (A)"), and in Network control panel I am using "EtherTalk...
Hm, unfortunately, switching the network control from LocalTalk Built In to EtherTalk Alternative didn't change whether the file server is detected in chooser (it didn't break connection, at least, so it's equally web connected either way).
This shows at least proof of concept that appletalk is...
Ah ok - I do have the network control panel! Do you have advice on what I should check to start debugging?
things I know: on the Mac side, I have my tcp/ip set up and it works well - can browse the web(ish) with macweb and have all sorts of fun with telnet, including logging onto the pi itself...
