Repair lifted pads on classic 2

Quick update here! I took out the analog board and cleaned the whole thing with some rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush. When I reassembled the whole thing, it booted right up! It now consistently boots, which is awesome! I still have no sound, but I'll work on that. I'm really excited to...

Repair lifted pads on classic 2

So it booted once after the recap (yay!). Now though, the screen is totally black. The CRT doesn’t even power up at all: no jailbars, no grey screen, nothing. I (very carefully) plugged it in with the case open, and my AC voltage detector isn’t picking up any current at all going into the...

“Replace them one at a time” sounds like a good plan to me!

Where can I get a capacitor diagram for the mac classic 2 analog board? I bought a replacement capacitor kit here, but I'd like to have a reference to use after I pull out all the old ones, so I put the new ones in correctly...

Repair lifted pads on classic 2

“Just put them on crooked” totally worked! I got the thing to boot! It doesn’t boot every time though— sometimes the CRT doesn’t turn on (but I hear the fan and the drive turn on and I think it’s booting). The sound also doesn’t work, but that was true before it recapped it. So: any advice...

“Just put it on crooked” worked surprisingly well. I’ll test the connectivity when my multimeter comes in the mail and see if it’s actually connected but it seems like it worked!

Also, I have the 6 detached pads. I know the answer is probably “no,” but is there any way to reattach them?

What do you all think about silver epoxy? Has anyone ever used it before? It’s expensive: does it work?

Yeah the other side is pretty good so I should be able to anchor that. I’ll give it a try!

“Install it crooked” works for me lol. will that tiny little trace be sufficient to anchor that side of the cap?

I don’t have a multimeter with continuity! Where can I buy one? what’s a bodge wire? If I’m running a long wire l, how do I keep it attached to the circuit board?

Repair lifted pads on classic 2

I’m working on recapping the logic board for a mac classic ii. I ordered a tantalum capacitor kit from console 5, and watched a lot of Branchus Creations videos to prepare. There’s 17 capacitors, and I got all of them removed from the board. However, I lifted 6 pads while doing this, and now...
