So, fired up the Q950 about an hour ago. Everything works, but I cannot seem to rename the hard drive to the stock "Macintosh HD" volume name. Turned off Appletalk and disabled file sharing, thinking that those might be the issue, yet it won't let me rename the hard drive.

Does anyone remember the old System 7.1 Finder ResEdit hack that allowed your disk space to be displayed in KB instead of MB? There's a text file in the Macintosh Archive on the UMICH.edu site that describes how to do it under 7.1. Said file is linked below...

Been thinking about hacking in a IIcx/IIci/Q700 speaker in place of the small round speaker in the IIfx. Anyone do it before? Sound quality is a little better with the oval speaker from those models. -J
