seems no matter what i stick in this thing, the HDD goes undetected after awhile. i can get 3 OS installed, 7.6.1 8.6 and 9.1 and then power it off, if i unplug it from the wall it "forgets" it has an HDD, sometimes have to reboot it 100 times or boot an installer CD etc and eventually it will...

so, i just took the plastic bits off the 6300 case and put them on the 6360 case and now we're cooking. fortunately the metal itself only has one bent flange so otherwise it's in good shape. the only thing i need to do now is figure out how to swap the sticker identifying it as a 6300/6360...

someone told me, i can't remember where, to put my 6360 board into my 6300 case because the 6360 was destroyed by the USPS. the 6300 board boots in the 6360 case, but the 6360 board won't post in the 6300 case. what do you reckon is wrong?

There is a hardware diagnostic that comes on the driver disc for it. My next very weird sometimes it wants to work sometimes it doesn’t it has serious extension problems with the driver that came on the floppy

i'm struggling to get this one working, so far it has not worked correctly. so i doubt yours is defective - it's got to be an extension issue. did the hardware diagnostics work for you?

i also made a diskcopy image of the floppy that came with it, since there didn't seem to be any on macintosh garden
