Micron Xceed SE/306-48 and SE/30 issue

Thanks again. I checked all of the capacitors with my multimeter and I think they seem to look ok (they don't allow all current through). I took the ROM out, sprayed some contact cleaner in and tried again, but no luck. I tried the card without the ROM in and got the same screen. I wonder if...

Micron Xceed SE/306-48 and SE/30 issue

Pins are all good. Will have a go with the ROM and some contact cleaner. Can I check the capacitors somehow without taking them off the board?

Micron Xceed SE/306-48 and SE/30 issue

I'm a novice in this area, so bear with me :) I tested the traces around the affected area using a multimeter from the blobs at each end of the trace - all seem to have continuity. I unplugged the floppy and hard disks and tried again, but to no avail. I'll try and do some voltage testing. I...

Micron Xceed SE/306-48 and SE/30 issue

Thanks all. I'll check the power supply and try without the hard disk etc. I'll check the continuity of the traces as well.

Micron Xceed SE/306-48 and SE/30 issue

I recently acquired a Micron Xceed SE/306-48 (sold untested, so a gamble) to go in my SE/30. Unfortunately, when I put the card in my SE/30 it makes a bong and shows this screen: Does anyone have any pointers on if there is anything I can do/try? My SE/30 with 68MB of RAM runs fine without...

Yet Another Dead Beige G3 Desktop

Also, leave it for at least a minute or so. They can be very slow to boot up sometimes (not sure why).

Yet Another Dead Beige G3 Desktop

Try with the HDD and CD unplugged from the IDE bus AND power and press the CUDA reset. The IDE bus on mine is very dodgy and sometimes causes it to not boot. It doesn't need a battery on the motherboard to boot. Test the PSU to make sure it's outputting the right voltages. Again, I think the...

    LC475 / Power Macintosh 8200 / Performa 630

@Paulie Ah, no worries. Sorry I literally chucked it on eBay last week as I needed the space back. It's still on there with a few days to go, but it's been bid on so I can't remove it. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Apple-Power-Macintosh-8200-120-for-spares-repair-see-description/233854888067

    128MB 5V DIMMs in Power Mac 7300

Thank you. Must be the RAM. I tried it on a 8550 motherboard I have (and in a Power Mac 8200) and it does the same.

    128MB 5V DIMMs in Power Mac 7300

Is anyone running 128MB 5V DIMMs in their Power Mac? I've tried some in mine, but they don't work. 64MB and lower ones work fine. There is mixed info on the web, whether they can take 128MB or 64MB is the max.

What would be a decent price to purchase a Color Classic?

Sounds like you scored a great machine! Please let us know how you get on :)

Power Mac 8200/120, no video output

Ah yeah, by scrap, I mean move it on, not bin it :) I've spent hours trying different combos to try and get it to boot. I think the PSU is fine, but maybe I'll give it one more go and use a multimeter.

    LC475 / Power Macintosh 8200 / Performa 630

I know this topic is a bit old now, but if you need a 8200 PSU @Paulie, I have a 8200 with no video output that you can have. The PSU seems fine.

Power Mac 8200/120, no video output

Tried with a new PRAM battery, but no luck. Doesn't look like it's actually booting either, so maybe I'll just scrap it and keep the bits for other projects.

Power Mac 8200/120, no video output

I recently acquired a Power Mac 8200/120. It turns on and chimes but doesn't output any video. I tested it's RAM and VRAM in another machine and it's fine. I even bought a PCI Formac video card, but still no output (the card also works in my other PCI Macs). Is there anything else to try...

    Classic-Capacitor-Conundrum-Consultation

I bought caps from here recently and they worked well. May be a little more expensive than buying individually, but the kits save the hassle and aren't crazily priced: https://console5.com/store/computer-cap-kits/mac-68k-cap-kits/mac-classic.html

What would be a decent price to purchase a Color Classic?

I agree with Cheesestraws on the SE/30. It's the best compact Mac in my opinion. I like it and use it more than my Color Classic. I just put 64MB of RAM in it and it flies. The other thing to note about the Color Classic is that it's really quite heavy! You won't want to be lugging that around...

Anyone know what this cable is for?

This came with a Powerbook 3400c I acquired. I know one end is HDI30 for SCSI, anyone know what the other end is?
