Wondering if anyone happens to have a working Apple Network Server with AIX loaded who might be able to send me an image of the hard drive. I have an ANS 500/132 and I'm having endless issues getting AIX installed on it after the drive failed. I'm hoping to have it at VCF East in a couple weeks...
So I got a copy of Pacerterm, it lets Macs emulate VT102 and VT320 terminals, and I'd very much like to use it, but my disks are completely toast and I can't seem to find it online. Does anyone happen to have a copy and could sell it or send me disk images?
Hey, any g3 is better than a 603! I'd definitely be interested if you wouldn't mind letting it go, maybe I could trade one of these other accelerators if you want
Well, looks like something I did ended up working, and it now works just fine with usb. Copied over some files, planning on copying Fallout as a stress test to make sure it's good. But now the 6500 is acting up and crashing lol.
What I ended up doing is copying the usb extensions off the 9.2.2...
I mean, I might be able to, but wouldn't be worth it cause even a low end g3 accelerator will be significantly faster I think. I'll probably see if I can sell one of the accelerators I have now and buy one of those Sonnet L2 accelerators. I do have one already, but it's in my ridiculously...
On my 6500 I've managed to do several gigabytes over usb 1.0. It was pretty painful to wait for it, but worked just fine. I think I copied a full install of Fallout and Quake 3 and it took like 3 hours but it didn't give me any issues. Copied it onto a Samsung ssd with a usb 3.0 adapter no less!
Yeah, I knew usb support wouldn't be great, but I managed to get it working on every other machine I've had, including a bunch of clones. Gotta be a way to make it work. There is another board actually, the later Kansas one, that might have some differences
Looks like I have the Tsunami board in my machine, and it does have a rom in the slot, I wonder if taking that rom out or swapping the board would change anything?
I did manage to find the manual on archive.org but I don't have the processor that's shown in the manual, just a standard one out of a b&w g3 so it probably isn't quite as forgiving or compatible
Changing the switches on the Newertech card doesn't seem to change anything, but I do have an xlr8 machspeed g3 that uses a zif cpu that has 12 switches, but I can't seem to find the manual for it online
I tried, I do have the manual but it only says how to do the switches to put it in an 8600 or 9600. Very unhelpful lol. I'm gonna try and just do every possible switch combo to see if I can get it working. Only has 4 switches so 16 combinations isn't too tough to try
Ah, ok. I didn't realize the 6500 was newer, maybe some revised roms has something to do with it? I do plan on using ethernet but I'd really like to have usb also for convenience.
I haven't done any testing with other peripherals but I definitely will, and I'm fairly sure I tried copying the...
