For once, it's not a mac (or IBM machine) that I'm showing off. this time it's just a mostly complete in box copy of Myst. Not any of the later re-releases either. Original, copyright 1993 Myst, complete with a previous owner's handwritten notes.
Have you by chance reset the CUDA yet? I recently worked on a clone that wasn't booting with a G3 upgrade card and after resetting that it suddenly started working.
All settings lead to it being green, and it is such a cheap CRT that it doesn’t have any form of on screen adjustment nor doesn’t it do 1024x768 at more than 60hz
Nevermind, the entire problem is the picky as all hell CRT that I have. Who would have known that a non-interesting dell crt would be so picky, while a generic HP LCD wouldn't be.
New problem after everything has been installed: I can't figure out why my monitor refuses to not be green at all times. I'm using one of those 10 dip adapters.
Thanks, The marathon problem might have just been having a PDS graphics card and a Nubus Graphics card going at the same time now that I think about it. I also don't have an HD-45 adapter, leaving me with just my aforementioned cards.
Today I managed to find myself a free floating G3 card, albeit one without the cables to allow for a proper HPV card to be used along side it.
I am thinking bout tossing it in to my 7100, but I was trying to figure out a few things before I did so. Is the bodge wiring visible in the top left of...
Yeah, it seems to disregard the cache completely. So I can probably upgrade my 7100 in to being still slow as a result. Now to just find a driver for the original tango, instead of the more modern ones.
Thanks for helping quell my fears, lol. I also managed to snag what I assume is a 1.0 version of a Sonnet Tango, and I'm hoping to use it with this system. Given that the G3 seems to have 1MB of cache built in, do I actually need the motherbord cache?
Well, toady I said goodbye to two machines. My G3 that I got a few weeks back is now going out to someone who will enjoy it more than I could, and my UMAX is going to go to a coworker who will love it, but doesn't know he's getting it. Why did I get rid of two specifics? Because I now have a...
As it turns out, the door on the CD drive is stuck, and it is indeed a mostly working G3 with a ROM 1 Rev A board. I was thinking I might source the rage 128 from my old B&W, same with the cpu so I can get it running above 300MHz. That way it's more distinct from my clone that's sitting right...
Well, today was substantial. Not extremely so, but still awesome.
I managed to snag a probably Rev A Beige G3 Minitower, complete with the stock AV card. according to Free Geek, the CD and zip drive aren't working, and there's some plastic on the PowerPC badge's side that is being held on by...
68k machines aren't really the best for browsing even simple websites like the garden, so you're probably better off transferring to them some other way. That said, you might not mind the wait once you're used to it. It's not a multiple-minute wait under most circumstances.
