So I recently won a IIci from Buyee...which in and of itself, isn't a big deal. But it had a Daystar Powercache 68030 card in it as well as a network card! The card is the 40Mhz version and doesn't have a 68882, but for the price that I got it all for, I think I did pretty good.
However...
I have a few ImageWriter II's and I finally decided to get around to getting one of them up and running for a project I'm working on. The ImageWriter itself is in good shape, but of course, the cartridge that was in it didn't seem to be working. So I decided to swap it out for a new old stock...
I found this old ad from 1992 wedged into one of the manuals for a Daystar accelerator I recently acquired. I wonder just how many forgotten Mac Classics are still sitting on someone's shelves like in this ad......
I picked up this Daystar 68030 powercache accelerator with a Macintosh II adapter off of eBay. Added bonus was that it came with a whole bunch of documentation....even still has the warranty card! And it came in the original box too.
Only thing that it didn't come with was a 68882 math...
I got this off of Ebay a while back in a lot of Mac parts. Judging by the chips that it has I think that it is a video card, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have any idea what this card might go to?
Maybe it doesn't even go to a Mac at all!
I picked this up off of Buyee/yahoo Japan a few days ago. I put a sniper bid on it, expecting not to win....but by some miracle I did.
Like most of us that look for SE/30's, what drew my eye to this machine was the fact that it had a video connector sticking out the back. Of course you...
Another Micron Xceed grey scale video card for the SE/30 for sale, possibly a MacroColor 30? I'm sure the final selling price will be way over my budget!
Looks like everything is there, including the neck board and the harness...
Hello All!
I bought this on Buyee Japan a little while back. As you can see, it's basically a Wacom tablet for your classic Macintosh. I've been trying to get it to work with either one of my SE's or SE/30's, but with no luck. The good news is that it did come with driver disks...
Hey everyone! I recently won an Interware VDR-1A video card. Unfortunately, it didn't come with the video out cable that attaches to the card. Does anybody have a pinout diagram of the cable, or just a picture of one so that I can make a cable for this card? Thanks!
So a few weeks back I bid on and won an Interware VDR-1A video card from Buyee. But the real interesting thing.....at least to me-is that it came in an original Micron Xceed box, and came with all of the supporting documentation for a Micron Xceed MacroColor 30 card! This includes the original...
So the other week I bid on an SE/30 from Yahoo Japan. I new that it had a video card in it, but I didn't know what it was. It just came today; and not only does it have an Interware VDR-2j video card in it, but it also has an Interware 68030 50Mhz pass-through accelerator!
I don't think the...
Hello everyone!
I've been working on restoring an AppleCD SC external scsi drive and I've hit a snag. Long and short of it, the eject/drive intake does not work. And the reason is that the drive gear on the eject/intake motor is cracked. It is a small, 4.4mm 12 tooth nylon gear. I've...
So I've been browsing/buying Mac stuff on Yahoo Japan for over a year now, and I have to say it is amazing how much old Mac stuff is routinely for sale on it! My latest item that I bought is this: an Interware 68030 accelerator, with the original box.....for only $100! Well, at least that was...
Hello everyone,
As I sit here in my electronics room/Zoom office, I figured I'd ask a question. I have a Micron Xceed 306 video card that I bought off of eBay about a month ago. The good news is that it somewhat works; but that's the bad news as well!
Half of the displayed video...
I bid on this at the last minute about two weeks ago and was kind of shocked when I won! Especially for what I paid for it; at $80, it feels like I practically stole this card. It displays up to millions of colors at 640x480, and has pretty cool looking splash screen to boot:
The cool splash...
Hello all,
A few weeks ago I had the good fortune to pick up a few SE/30's with video cards, including one with a RasterOps Clear Vue GS30. So I put it into my main SE/30 to test it out. It worked well for about a week, having the ability to display 256 shades of grey at 1024 x 768. And...
Last week while I was on eBay looking for old macs I came across an auction with 20 different old Macintosh computers, most of them compact macs- and a few of them SE/30's. The total for the auction was $640 and you had to go to Iowa to pick them all up!
Long and short of it nobody...
