    Ethernet for the 6360/6500 combo.

I might pull the trigger on one

    Ethernet for the 6360/6500 combo.

Sadly no, that is the rage 128's domain. i might consider swapping in one i have for ethernet and just using the 6500's built in video, but i'd like to try a deathmatch or something with all my other macs in quake III or similar.

    Ethernet for the 6360/6500 combo.

So, i now have a mostly functional 6360+6500 with a Rage 128 and a G3, i kind of wanna get it onto some network stuff to just browse, i have an older SCSI to ethernet adapter, i have heard tales of that not working with powerPC, what is the easiest way and possibly cheapest to get this to browse...

PowerMac 8600 with Sonnet Crescendo G4 Accelerator

I think, due to shipping, you should sell the G4 on it's own. You will have more interest in it. If you do wanna sell it, make sure you get some ESD bags for it and package it as well as you can.

    Just got a 6360, and a Rage 128.

Hmm, well i am bidding on a 6500/225 board for it to upgrade it. but i just want a system 7.6.1 foolaround machine. the Rage 128 was more for resolution than anything else, since it will let me use VGA at better resolutions vs HD15

    Just got a 6360, and a Rage 128.

Yep, and i wonder...what can i do in 7.6.1 with a rage 128, i got the 128 to at least have better video resolution than 800x600, and potentially some 3d. I want to have a pure 7.6.1 machine for nostalgia, and this system and the price was good.

What Mac OS Version is best for PPC Macs that are bad at 68k emulation?

7.6.1 is the minimum i'd run on any PPC, 8.1 for systems with more ram but a slower CPU. And yeah, later versions should run faster to a point due to the 68k code replacement.

New (to me) Powerbook G3 Pismo, basic questions

Good, now don't expect perfect performance on 10.4.11, namely due to the GPU being on the lower end of the spectrum but it will be decent.

New (to me) Powerbook G3 Pismo, basic questions

Using the usual sites, i reccomend getting the universal 9.2.2 installer, it is the best for this system.

    Kanga "Losing" blessed System Folder

Good lord, i was tired when i posted, it made sense at the time what i posted. I put in a 128gb kingspec SSD, system won't keep a 9.1 system folder blessed. I am going to try a smaller SD card via an IDE adapter. Is it potentially a 3400/Kanga 8gb issue for the system partition?

    Kanga "Losing" blessed System Folder

I installed a "kingspec" 128gb ide SSD into my Kanga, and i can install 9.1 from a ibook g3 CD, and then it...eventually stops being blessed, i bought a SD to IDE adapter to hopefully fix it that way, just incase it is that. Would this be a SSD issue to begin with?

    Toshiba portege 7140

I will just go in and do a cleaning of the insides then, blow out all the dust. And hopefully I'll be able to see the battery. By the way, I am going to try ecomstation on it. Just to see how os2 works on it. It will be my Windows 98 machine in the end

Mac Os X Server 1.x Software?

thank you. It will be neat to see what it can do, it will probably just be on there for like an hour or two just to check it out, and then i will be back to 8.6

Mac Os X Server 1.x Software?

Is there any mirrors of old software for mac os X server 1.x/Rhapsody? since the kanga can in theory run it, i wanna give it a spin. Edit: Not looking for like server software. more like random ports of open source stuff and games to it, curious as to what the homebrew was like

What System/mac Os version are you nostalgic for.

it also has the multi-threaded finder, so file copies no longer grind it to a screeching halt

What System/mac Os version are you nostalgic for.

Can be X, can be Classic, curious as to what versions you have nostalgia for. For me it is 7.6, it was the first version i ever used in late 00/early 01 in middle school on an LC 5x0 and powermac 5260 in middle school. Prior to that i was at schools with ibm all in ones. My 2nd favorite is...
