Hi all, following up to say a big THANK YOU. I ordered the part linked above, and removed the old UE8. Once I soldered in the new part, it immediately worked and I have a functioning SE/30 again. Super happy and very grateful. Thanks for the help to solve this issue.

I started it up this afternoon after a thorough clear with IPA around the video area and letting it sit overnight without power. I at least got some activity on screen: If this provides any direction for where I should look next would be very grateful to hear your thoughts. Many thanks.

From your hints I was able to find a thread on Tinker Different that had various part numbers. The part I was after (SE/30 logic board connector) is Molex Mini-Fit Jr 39-28-1143. Thank you!

Just finished up my latest SE/30 recap, and very happy to now have a working screen and an operational speaker. I used the hot air method with heat-resistant tape and some box-cutter blade shield. Sadly I seem to have left a gap in my heat shielding, and partially melted the logic board...

Tonight after a few solid hours of checking resistors, PSU levels, connections and the analogue board, I got it going. What worked: 1. Checking all resistors. R26 was an open circuit so that got replaced with a 1W resistor (over-spec'd) to try and guard against any future issues causing...

I've taken a close look and the connectors don't seem to have scorch marks anywhere on the analogue board. Here's a shot of the inside of the analogue board's protective sleeve. I only looked at it today — I suppose this would be suggestive of some components that have had a bit of a failure...

Thanks. The caps all look pretty good on the logic board so no obvious impacts to other components. I will still get to replacing them. Did you have to replace the ICs completely to get it working again?
