Introducing scuzEMU, a SCSI Emulator Utility

Dunno how I missed it but RH bumped their hardware once again. https://shop.rabbitholecomputing.com/products/zuluscsi-blaster?variant=51474823840060 Not sure when this happened but the new blaster looks great, USBC connector, optional CD audio dac, now based on the RP2350B and up to 18MB/s. I...

    Sonnet Crescendo NuBus Revision A

Ah! Nice work I had a hunch your board was knackered. Now to engineer a board splint to keep it straight. :p

    Sonnet Crescendo NuBus Revision A

Maybe the card is defective, but I have a hard time believing its the driver, I've sold and owned numerous sonnet cards and I always use the latest driver no matter the system. Never had an issue, Sonnet is really good about backward compatibility with their drivers. Some of the other brands not...

    Sonnet Crescendo NuBus Revision A

Driver should work, scrub those contacts with an eraser, and then spray with contact cleaner and try again. Also power off the computer and give the PDS slot a good soak with contact cleaner and let it evaporate and try again. I'd bet money you bring it back to life, I can see the dirty contacts...

    A trash can.... Mac :)

For sure, also take everything I say with a large dose of salt given I bought a 2013 mac pro myself this year.

    A trash can.... Mac :)

Very true, you can pick one up for $350 on eBay if you shop. Although the M1 mini does have some drawbacks that the M4 does not have which makes it worth it for me to skip it. When they get down to $100-150 range I think they will be killer machines to pick up to just use for whatever.

    A trash can.... Mac :)

I hear what your saying, but at the same time we are talking about a difference of $225, and that is with me price shopping aggressively for mine with D700s making offers on eBay over and over etc. Used M4 minis are already hitting eBay... I feel like at that price difference I don't care who...

    A trash can.... Mac :)

I think that was true, but that is rapidly changing as they go forward. M4 is really really good. I like the trashcan it's iconic even if it's a "meme", but it may end up as a display piece at some point next year rather than being used much.

    A trash can.... Mac :)

I"m glad you had a look and walked that back, lol. I was about to say the base model mac mini at $600 is being hailed across the industry as best bang for buck, even against PCs. We'll just pretend the ssd, and memory upgrades if you want more than that aren't wildly over priced. But the base...

    A trash can.... Mac :)

I bought one of these in February as well, and have been using it as an upgrade to my 2014 mac mini. In hindsight the new mac mini would probably have been a much better choice, but here we are. It is an interesting piece to own, but probably not a wise financial decision. lol

    Daniël's PowerPC BGA chip swaps

I see so your saying that the 4400 was likely designed to work without an extension and so isn’t happy in my later machines where one is required.

    Workgroup Server 8150/110

The 300 is bettter than the 266 but not an especially fast one the really good ones are 400 or even 500mhz although they are quite uncommon.

    Daniël's PowerPC BGA chip swaps

Not quite sure I"m tracking on that front, as all the L2 upgrades to my knowledge require an extension to work, I have interware L2 cards that are designed specifically for the 6500 and they work without issue using the extension, however my card that is designated as being for the 4400 does not...

    Daniël's PowerPC BGA chip swaps

I have one of these that is populated and it does not work in my 6500, I had been under the assumption that perhaps it was locked in some way to only work on the 4400, but I haven't ever found one to try it in. Curious to know if it works for you.

Alex Hixon's Jamport G4 designs now available on Github

Very cool that he released his designs, but just in case you weren't specifically wanting that one, one of our own has done it as well and they are actually available. https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/fs-circuittalk-for-powermac-g3-and-g4.44476/

6400/200 - No Video, No Green LED, Nothing Happening

I've had this happen with my 6500 as well, nothing I did would revive it other than swapping motherboard. I've done that twice, and it fixes it for awhile, my 6500 is currently dead again with this issue as I've not had time to deal with it yet again.
