I compiled Mbed-TLS with Codewarrior 4 (attempting to make an HTTPS client)

IT WORKS This is JSON pulled off of my server at this endpoint: https://640by480.com/api/v1/posts I'm going to clean this up and do a complete writeup, and eventually package this as a 'lightweight bare-bones project' for other people to hack on. Few updates from the last time I updated -- I...

I compiled Mbed-TLS with Codewarrior 4 (attempting to make an HTTPS client)

UPDATE: THIS WORKS NOW. TLS 1.2 NATIVELY COMPILED A bit more screwing around, and this works now. I'm connecting to my server and getting data from the API. Take this as proof of concept for a working port of Mbed-TLS. This is running on a beige G3 with OS 8.6, compiled under Codewarrior Pro 4...

I compiled Mbed-TLS with Codewarrior 4 (attempting to make an HTTPS client)

I'm compiling it as a FAT application on a beige G3. If it ever works, it'll probably run on an SE/30 -- anything less than that and I'm not confident there's the horsepower to do the encryption.

I compiled Mbed-TLS with Codewarrior 4 (attempting to make an HTTPS client)

I have successfully compiled MbedTLS (or PolarSSL) for the classic Mac environment using Codewarrior Pro 4 on a machine running OS 8.6. That's the clickbait. It doesn't _work_, oh no. I've been trying to connect to my server via HTTPS for a few weeks now, and I'm really, really tired of this...

Simasimac SE/30 - where are the annotated PCB images so I can trace out issues?

Hey all, acquired an SE/30 and after replacing the power supply (the old one was dead, although the motherboard was exceptionally clean), I'm getting a classic Simasimac pattern. This is after recapping the PCB, installing a CR2032 battery adapter, PurpleROM, and four 16Meg RAM SIMMs. This is...

Interest in a new code archive?

I spent quite a bit of time building a Classic development system, and with that comes a gigantic hard drive filled with all the documentation I could find. My 'documentation' folder is about 45GB and includes: Apple Developer CDs, from 1990 until 1995. These are all packed into .sit and .iso...

DuoNet: Ethernet for the Macintosh Duo Expansion Connector

Project status: I found the connector for the Duo expansion connector, and now I'm building the infra to make a Duo->Ethernet module, like the Asante NetDock The above project status will be edited as the project is completed I have a few Duo systems, including a 2300c and a 280c, as well as a...

Problem with an Asante NetDock (the Duo Ethernet microdock)

Seeing as how this post is the top google result for "Asante Netdock" + "280c", I feel this deserves an update: The NetDock is incompatible with both the 2300c and the 68040 duos, the 280 and 280c. I've tried Open Transport and MacTCP, various systems from 7.1.1 to OS 8.1, and I keep getting...

    A thread for RackMacs

Oh hey, I made a Rackintosh. It's a Q605, using most of the original components, an Ethernet card, and a BlueSCSI. The sides of the enclosure are a Hammond rackmount instrument case, with the front and back are 3D printed. Two halves for each side, glued together. That's not ideal, but printing...

This is a G3 Desktop drive caddy, or "Apple Power Macintosh 3.5" Hard Disk Drive Sled" part number 815-1688. Works on my machine. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5855447

    QuickTake 150 on Macintosh SE

I've tried. Oh man I've tried. Making a PC serial cable didn't work, and using a new MiniDIN-8 cable between the Quicktake and a Quadra didn't work. Emulators don't work, and a vintage USB->Serial adapter and a G3 iBook didn't work. Your best bet is an old mac. You could try the SE, see if it...

    QuickTake 150 on Macintosh SE

Awesome. So I don't _think_ that's an SE FDHD, and you don't have a hard drive, so you won't even be able to install the software. So you might be out of luck with your SE. Any other *newer* mac should work, up until OS 7.6. All you'll need to do is install the software. Powerbooks work, but so...

Problem with an Asante NetDock (the Duo Ethernet microdock)

I'm going to begin by putting this into a 'known good' situation. I have a Duo 2300c, System 7.5.3, Open Transport, with a Duo MiniDock and Asante Micro EN/SC. This works. I can open up Fetch, point it to my FTP server, and everything's great. However, if I turn the machine off and plug the...

Share your Apple Quicktake 100/150/200 Photos here!

It's actually not much, and the important part (the metal part that holds the nikon lens) can't be 3D printed. You basically have to take apart a Nikon mount. Other than that, it's just taking the camera apart and putting it back together in a totally different way. Here's a graphic that shows...

Share your Apple Quicktake 100/150/200 Photos here!

Okay, this is amazing. Feel free to experiment with any of my images. In the meantime, this is what I'm working on. It's modifying a QT150 for Nikon lenses. The crop factor is about 6x compared to what this lens is usually attached to, so there are going to be some _really long_ shots I'm...

Making modern iMac G3 I/O Doors

It doesn't look good.... So this is a very difficult part to print, at least on a 3D printer. The orientation of those clasps doubles over on itself, meaning there's really only one way to print the entire thing -- on it's side. That's if you're using a filament printer. Resin would probably...

Iomega ZIP drive 3d model for printing

Hep, this loaded okay in Fusion360, but it's not what you're looking for: You're basically just looking at a 3D model of a Zip drive, and not the actual CAD data of what the plastic in a Zip drive _is_. Here's the inside, made by splitting the main body down the middle: See, there's...
