ITXPlus: A ITX Sized Macintosh Plus Logicboard Reproduction

Getting there! Still quite a bit to do but it's finally at the point there are more red and green lines than white lines :)

ITXPlus: A ITX Sized Macintosh Plus Logicboard Reproduction

Thanks :) Though strictly speaking I think DosFox is the first one to do a "no original parts" build - he built a clone board based using my original Plus Reloaded board and most of the other bits mentioned above

ITXPlus: A ITX Sized Macintosh Plus Logicboard Reproduction

I haven't done project thread in a while as writing is not my favourite past time but people seem to enjoy them so here it goes ITXPlus is a Mini-ITX sized Macintosh Plus logicboard clone that can be be assembled to a working state with no original parts and is intended for new build systems in...

How long until we see enhanced mac motherboard recreations?

The short answer is its possible, but not something I am looking to do currently. I'm focusing on the plus currently as it can be made with no original parts (All PAL's have been reverse engineered, the Sony sound has been reverse engineered and the way of bypassing the requirement for a IWM has...

How long until we see enhanced mac motherboard recreations?

I won't say much as it's still very much a work in progress but I am working on a ITX sized variation of the plus board that can be made with no original parts. Exactly what will and won't make it on the the board is going to depend largely on how much free board space I end up with after doing...

    Macintosh LC and PurpleRAM

They should work just fine, I haven’t tried his specific sticks but gave used the two chip simms in lc’s many times and they always work fine

(The second comment most people made after saying the DB25 was better was "And a internal SCSI connector would be good too" And that was before I had told anyone that was already my plan :) )

I don't know but tbh I expect most people will never use the connector and just connect a BlueSCSI or a fast spinner internally :) I may make a version with the correct 50pin external connector if I decide I can be bothered to make a footprint for it. But either way I am just going to throw the...

I haven't tried booting from scsi, once I have a assembled card again I'll give it a go :) And yep, with the DB25 unpopulated it will fit without the special cutout bracket

Reverse Engineering the Macintosh IIcx Logicboard

Unfortunately not, I have misplaced the original paper copy I made while doing the RE work and haven't ever got around to making a new one

    A thread for RackMacs

Indeed it is, originally I was going to just have two Ethernet ports but decided to go fancy and incorporate a little switch Power supply wires for the LC board are just soldered on the the bottom of the board, I didn't have any connectors tot hand and couldn't be brothered with ordering any :)

    A thread for RackMacs

One I have been working on for a while: It's built on a repro LCIII and Ethernet card with a version of @cheesestraws LCBM to allow for remote power on / off. Oh and a ful on SCA HDD because why use a small modern solid state solution when you can cram a large hot running server drive in there...

Yeah my plan was to open source the RAM board designs so people can still make new boards long after I get bored with them. I have also tried to design the boards to support as broad of a range of IC's as possible, I currently have 4 designs (2x 16mb with different chip types, 1x 32mb and 1x...

@robin-fo that's the standard one with 30 pin simms, a prototype run of RAM boards and the associated are currently in production so I'll post pictures once I get them :) @cheesestraws yeah it makes sense but you know what people are like..... Anyway for those that want 30pin simm rockets there...

Mainly the SIMM slots..... I can't get them locally for a sensible price. Converting to 72pin simms seemed like the way to go initially but actually proved not to be workable. I ended up making a design that uses custom RAM boards which I'm sure will annoy some people but I couldn't think of a...

Well from a electrical standpoint the add on board connector should pretty much be a 040 PDS connector so it should be possible, from a software standpoint who knows. i'm not much of a software expert :)
