    Daystar Genesis MP (again!)

Somehow I have insane luck, because I've picked up another Quad CPU Daystar. This one's a Quad 132! Here's a link to the first one: https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/the-holy-grail-of-pci-macs-daystar-millennium-quad-604.31811/ This machine is a Daystar Genesis MP. It's a Quad CPU...

Unexpected ewaste find: MicroQue PDS4/Top Hat. Quad LC PDS Adapter!

A bit of an unusual one, a quad LC PDS adapter. I found it shoved in with a bunch of VME-style cards scrapped from some sort of audio setup, along with a Radius Color Pivot IIsi interface. Quite a big card, sadly I did not find the case it would've gone with. Just bare board in a gaylord. Oh well.

    Compgeke's Acquisitions

I get enough junk I figured I should start a thread for the odds and ends I get. I'll start with today's pickup: A NeXT Cube. A friend sent me a link to one on Facebook Marketplace last night for $200, and by some miracle it was still available!  It's a little beat up but shoot, the price...

Macintosh SE/30 Revival: Stuck at White Screen with Chime

I've recently picked up my first SE/30 (well, a logic board) and I'm not feeling the love for them so far. It was recapped, but non-functioning when I got it. It'd turn on, and one of a few things would happen. It'd do nothing, it'd chime then death chime a few seconds later, it'd death chime...

Flea Market Mac IIsi and Mac II(fx)!

Decided to hit up the flea market today and I suppose it paid off. Managed to pick up a Mac IIsi for $20 and a Mac II with a IIfx upgrade board for $40.  I'll start with the IIfx since it's the more interesting of the machine. This machine started life back in 1988 as a plain Macintosh II...

The Holy Grail of PCI Macs: Daystar Millennium Quad 604.

One of those mythical machines you read about is the Daystar Genesis MP. Multiple 604s? How cool is that. rarely do they actually appear for sale though, and when they do often the boring single processor or maybe a dual. Never the Quad. Well, a quad was the machine only in my dreams until...

    Marathon Computer iRack DV

I seen this on Craigslist for $10 and just had to have it. For those of you who don't know, Marathon Computer was a company who made rack mount things for Apple computers. Whether rack ears for your Powermac G4 or an entire case for your 9600. In this case, a 1U rack chassis for an iMac G3 DV...

Radius FPD SE ROM v4.4 (or older software?)

One of the cooler things I own here is a Radius FPD setup for a Mac SE. While it does work, I can't use any of the more advanced features the software contains due to my old ROMs, v2.91. The only version on the internet requires v4.4. Would anyone happen to have either images of the v4.4 ROM or...

    $20 Mid 2010 Macbook

I also picked up one of these a couple days ago dirt cheap. I guess they're finally losing all their value. Unlike Jon183's, mine came with 8 gigs ram and a 750 gig hard drive. No battery or charger with it but for $20 I'm not complaining. Interestingly enough, these are even supported natively...

Silicon Image SIL3112 Flashing: Easier Way Using flashrom

I've dug through the various threads both here and elsewhere on flashing these cards and found a bunch of different ways, some that work (like flashing the Wiebetech rom) and many that don't (like making the Seritek 1S2 ROM work). All of this is fun and all but the Wiebetech ROM is OS X only, no...

    Dove Fastnet SE Extension\Software

I picked up a Dove Fastnet SE relatively cheap and while it didn't go bang upon installation, I haven't had any luck finding the software (or manual). So far the only thing I can find for Dove is "DoveEthernetkaart.sit" which seems to be corrupt no matter what mirror it's from. Neither Stuffit...

    Powermac 9600 w/ 400 MHz G3 Upgrade

Found this on ebay and somehow won the auction dirt cheap. Making it better, I was close enough for local pickup rather than shipping. Anyways, It's a Powermac 9600/233. It's been upgraded a bit however. Inside we find a SCSI card, a video card (had two when I got it), 3 hard drives and an...

    Four Macintosh SEs

I've acquired more cheap Macs, four more SEs this time. I only really wanted the SE FDHD but the other three were so cheap I had to get them as well. All together there's: SE FDHD w/ 1 meg ram. No HDD. SE Dual Floppy w/ 2.5 megs ram, HDD bracket, carrying bag, Apple Standard Keyboard, mouse...

Twentieth Aniversary Mac Motherboard in 6400 Case

Unfortunately my TAM's LCD got shattered during the earthquake or move and my PSU for it has hid itself in the garage but I'd like to dump the ROM and such off it.  I seem to remember reading once that the 6400\6500 boards are the same as TAM boards with only the external ports changed. The...

    General Computer Hypercharger 020 Manual

I have a Mac SE I picked up a while ago with a General Computer Hypercharger 020 however I haven't been able to find anything saying what the jumpers are for or what the 50 pin header on the back connects to. While I managed to find the extension for it, I have not been able to find what the...

1 GHz eMac G4 Prototype Motherboard (rest later)

I've actually had this eMac since 2007 or 2008 (Leopard had JUST been released) but never really documented it or even mentioned it. Backstory is there used to be a place in Napa that did computer training, after school programs, etc for kids and this was donated. They had no use for an eMac and...

    Bone Stock Powerbook 1400cs

Got this out of a trade, Optiplex 380 for this. My first laptop was a Powerbook 1400cs/133 back in 2007 or so, I'd gotten it for $25 at a thrift store. Anyways, this here seems to be a bone stock 117 MHz model. Has the factory processor, 16 megs ram, 750 meg hard drive. Has the floppy drive...

The Mac SE Without a Radius Upgrade

Picked this up today for 1/33 of what that tag says. Great condition case, but no Radius like it says! Anyways, pictures. Back. Let's pretend that floppy drive is connected. I had pulled the board out for visual inspection and forgot to reconnect it. The motherboard itself. Finding this...

Apple Lisa 2 or Mac XL...Kind Of.

Picked this up today dirt cheap (less than $5). Not sure if it was a Lisa 2 or XL yet but either way someone really didn't like money. I have the back of it too, didn't take a picture for some reason and I'm not at home to do it. I assume it was hit by a gold scrapper. They left all the...

Macintosh IIcx and Core Duo Mac Mini

Picked both of these up along with a pair of Altec 887A speakers for $3. The speakers and Mini work but I haven't yet tested the II - it's wet. First off, the IIcx. I have quite a few pictures of this one as I can open it. It has the stock 80 meg hard drive, I believe 4 megs of ram and a Radius...
