Regarding serial switch- i found a version 1.1 for IIfx/quadra 900/950, does this work on other systems as well?

Thanks for the ideas! It is passing in serial data, and I used it long ago with a Mac LC, so I know it can be used with a slightly newer gen equipment, but a quadra may be too much.

Successfully tested with Mac SE with 7.5.5. Does not work at all under macos9 with a serial card. It was suggested clock speed may be an issue, any ideas welcome!

I have two PCI cards that do not allow my MDD to sleep in MacOS 9- Adaptec USB and Keyspan serial. Going to sleep, computer immediately wakes back up. Is there any known workaround to allow sleep for PCI cards like this?

Quadra 605 has been solid for months. Forgot to reinstall the microSD card in Bluescsi, flashing question mark on startup. Turned off, reinstalled, startup chime, gray screen, cursor freezed after 1 second, doesn’t boot. Removing everything I can from the system, pram/reset switch doesn’t help...

I’ve resorted to using a Keyspan pci port adapter, but some apps seem confused by the extra ports. Very interested in this solution.

I neglected to mention I am running macos 9. Is there a similar log somewhere in macos 9 to trace? I was told the PSU was beginning to fail when I bought it. I read that trickle voltage could inhibit startup, but why would this cause it to come out of sleep?

Until recently, this MDD dual 1.4 would sleep reliably. Recently when I put it in sleep it wakes back up before the fans have the chance to spin all the way down. Trying to backtrack what has changed. Have you encountered this behavior? Any ideas of what to try? Already disabled wake for network.

a second vote for kits, I prefer them. I’ve enjoyed putting together bluescsi and similar- if you have a stack of pcbs and bag o’parts I’m in.
