FWB NuBUS Jackhammer Incompatible with Fujitsu 2.3G MO Drive

@ArmorAlley It's a 50-pin device installed in a Fujitsu external case connected via a 50-pin Centronics to 25-pin cable to my Mac's internal SCSI bus. It is terminated. I've tried to both with an active inline terminator, and by using just the built in self-termination on the Fujitsu drive...

FWB NuBUS Jackhammer Incompatible with Fujitsu 2.3G MO Drive

I found a possible lead on the Release 2.2 CD-ROM. "DLCC Legacy Software Catalog" from Daniel's Legacy Software Collection. It lists the Power Computing Release 2.2 CD-ROM. I sent Daniel and email. I hope he still has it.

FWB NuBUS Jackhammer Incompatible with Fujitsu 2.3G MO Drive

According to LEM, Radius had a SCSI JackHammer build-to-order option for the System 100. Unfortunately I couldn't find a System 100 disc, only the 81/110.

FWB NuBUS Jackhammer Incompatible with Fujitsu 2.3G MO Drive

Went through all MacAddict CDs from 1999 to 2001. Nothing. I suspect 3.2.6 will be on an OEM CD for one of the clones.

FWB NuBUS Jackhammer Incompatible with Fujitsu 2.3G MO Drive

Well, I managed to re-discover the 3.2.3 firmware on the January 1998 Macworld CD-ROM. But that was after quite a few hours of searching. On to the MacAddict CDs. :P

In System 7, what decides which icon bundle is used?

I tacked it down to a Stuffit 7 installer. I compressed it, rebuilt my desktop, and everything is good again.

FWB NuBUS Jackhammer Incompatible with Fujitsu 2.3G MO Drive

I'm currently downloading 1999 Macworld CD-ROM collection. Will hunt for 2000 Macworld CD-ROM collection, too. Search through them for JackHammer software. I'll take a look at MacAddict, too.

Thanks for looking anyway. You never know.

FWB NuBUS Jackhammer Incompatible with Fujitsu 2.3G MO Drive

As @slomacuser already knows, someone found a 3.2.3 firmware on a German Macworld CD. It's intended for Targa 2000 users, but who knows. It might fix other issues as a side effect. I'm going to look around Pinnacle Micro related stuff. See if I can't find some CDs. I don't think it's out of...

FWB NuBUS Jackhammer Incompatible with Fujitsu 2.3G MO Drive

@slomacuser Unfortunate, but also a relief to know that I'm not the only one. :) According to the manual, cmd-opt-j disables the card so you can better troubleshoot. Mine also freezes if I disable the card via the Control Panel. I then have to clear PRAM to get it to boot again, as it won't...

In System 7, what decides which icon bundle is used?

Hmm. Seems like a pretty useful Control Panel would be one that lets you choose the default icon bundles.

In System 7, what decides which icon bundle is used?

I already tried that. :( I wonder if there's a rogue installer somewhere.

In System 7, what decides which icon bundle is used?

I accidentally mounted a CD with an OS 8 style icon for a Stuffit installer, and it's infested my crispy clean System 7. Is there a way to force System 7 to use a specific icon bundle? I like older System 7 style Installer Maker icon.

FWB NuBUS Jackhammer Incompatible with Fujitsu 2.3G MO Drive

@trag One of their PCCs does have the JackHammer software on it as an optional NuBus card installer, but it's never been uploaded anywhere. Frustratingly, "semvalidade2006" posted about his 7.5.3 Rev 2 PCC disc, but several people erroneously said it was the same as the regular 7.5.3 disc and...

Reverse Engineering the Macintosh LC III Logicboard

@max1zzz Shouldn't be a problem. Someone's built a TTL to RGB adapter so you can put in custom TTL timings and output to HDMI. Adrian over at Adrian's Digital Basement successfully did it with a Macintosh Classic and other computers. I'm a bit excited about it because I believe it means you...

    Open Source 68-Pin 512kb VRAM

@Stephen It's a special 1MB 100ns 68-pin SIMM. Despite what some websites claim, it is NOT the same type of RAM as a IIfx. They are not compatible. I wish I could offer you more information, but the reality is that you'd need to get your hands on an actual 1MB SIMM for an 8•24 GC video card...

System memory use between 24-bit and 32-bit addressing

A nifty extension might be one that converts any memory over 8MBs into a RAM Disk while you're in 24-bit mode.

    Open Source 68-Pin 512kb VRAM

Excellent work. I like seeing new homebrews. Would love some GWorld RAM, too. Seems to be unobtanium.

ThunderStorm, Thunder II GX, DSP multiple processor run

No RadiusRocket with DSP? I'm disappointed. ;) That's a lotta DSPs in there. I wonder if a plugin could be written to be multi-card DSP aware. Clearly it can use more than one DSP on a single card.

FWB NuBUS Jackhammer Incompatible with Fujitsu 2.3G MO Drive

@trag @slomacuser Just out of curiosity, does your computer also freeze when you hold down command-option-J to temporary disable your JackHammer card? My IIci hard freezes. My IIfx seems to never get past the gray screen with mouse cursor.
