Sound Manager patch for Mobius and Carrera 040 accelerators?

Thanks! The 1.8 is the one I’m using, except I use the one @Bolle supplied me with that works with SE/30. However, It doesn't seem to fix the Mobius sound issues. Thanks! Missed this one since I most of the time use System 7.1. I’m going to try the patch with system 7.5.3. The quote is from...

Sound Manager patch for Mobius and Carrera 040 accelerators?

I have been researching the crackling sound issues with my Mobius card before but never reached any conclusion on how to fix it. This old Google thread mentions something about a patched version of “Sound Manager”. Is true or just a myth...

TashTwenty: Single-Chip DCD (Hard Disk 20) Interface

This is the one I use now. However, it misses a couple of icons -- 0x05 and 0x10. I see, that explains it. This is the one I started with. I’d love to learn more about firmware updates. Where do I start?

TashTwenty: Single-Chip DCD (Hard Disk 20) Interface

Icon update. One weird thing happened when shifting icons using ‘fdisk’ and ‘setpid’ in the terminal of macOS. Some ids make the volumes disappear. For instance, 0x05 is listed as ‘Extended DOS’ in fdisk; when set for one volume, none of the volumes shows up, but they are still present. Changing...

Have you tried an online converter? SVG to EPS could do the trick. Do you have an example file?

TashTwenty: Single-Chip DCD (Hard Disk 20) Interface

I’d like to try. But I have never done anything close to this before. For starters, I wouldn’t know how to choose a resistor.

TashTwenty: Single-Chip DCD (Hard Disk 20) Interface

Ahhh, now I figured it out! I was a little confused because the first partition id shows up as “DOS_FAT_12” whereas the others show up as “0x02 and 0x03”. When looking at the list of id values it became clear Dogcow or 0x01 is “DOS FAT 12” thus 0x04 is Hobbes or “DOS FAT-16”. Let’s see what’s...

I’ll give it a try! Thank you! :) I only have a Multimeter, please give me some more step by step details on how to use it for obtaining the blink codes, and I will be happy to provide them for you. I’m currently on 3.8.5 (y) That would be great!

TashTwenty: Single-Chip DCD (Hard Disk 20) Interface

I use macOS 11 and I’m new to fdisk. When typing fdisk in terminal these commands show up: -i: initialize disk with new MBR -u: update MBR code, preserve partition table -e: edit MBRs on disk interactively -f: specify non-standard MBR template -chs: specify disk geometry...

TashTwenty: Single-Chip DCD (Hard Disk 20) Interface

At last! It took a couple of efforts and SD cards. It didn’t like my two SanDisk 64 GB XC and 4 GB HC, respectively, but the PNY 16 GB that came with my MacSD went through. I’m so relieved. Next up I want to figure out the Icon deal! :)

Well, shipment to Sweden took a good while, but my TashTwenty Tiny is assembled and ready for a test drive. It was sure fun to solder, I enjoyed every second of hiding in the basement. Next, I’ll start by doing some reading up in the thread regarding formatting and SD card convolutions.

Macintosh 16-inch Color Display -- Post Recap Issues

Problem solved! It was my own human error! I took the whole thing apart and noticed I had put one capacitor, “C302 (10µF 50V),” on backwards. It didn’t show from the top of the board, but things became clear when I flipped it over. That particular capacitor sits next to the KEY trim-pot. This is...

Macintosh 16-inch Color Display -- Post Recap Issues

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to fix minor convergence issues with my Macintosh 16-inch Color Display. Hence, after finding a burnt capacitor on the main board, I thought it was time to have the entire display recapped before I began fiddling with all the potentiometer dials. I started with...
