Hey all! This is my first post since 2018. Always been a Mac enthusiast but turned into a lurker when needed for about 6 years. My trusty PowerMac 7300 which works great, needs a few improvments. I want to add a fan in the PCI card area so I can mount it on my DOS card (the Pentium 166 version...
For anyone that was on the edge of their seat waiting for an answer! :)
It was just the adapter I was using between the monitor port and vga connector. It worked fine with other macs, but the 700 didn’t like it. Swapped with a brand new one I found sitting around and it’s crystal clear.
Mystery solved! Installing the Sonnet drivers did the trick, it has a Sonnet upgrade card, G3 @ 217mhz. L1 Cache: 32k inst/32k Data, Secondary Cache: 512k/108mhz according to Metronome. With the drivers installed, this thing FLIES with OS 8. Very impressed.

Wow, that's awesome.. if only it wouldn't be well over $2,000 to replace every board in my Lisa, although its working perfectly as/is. Now they just need to make some NEW Twiggy drives for under $50k.
I was just getting ready to list some extra stuff... I have a compact flash/IDE expansion card that I don't use after picking up a floppy/SmartPort emulator. Comes with a 512mb card loaded with lots of different things, I think I paid $120 for it a while back. I'd take $50 if you didn't want...
Nice! I have both a 520 and 520C i'm attempting to restore but running into (what I believe) are failing HDD's. Since those are 2.5" SCSI drives, options are very limited for replacement so I'm trying to figure out what to do. They both boot for now, but i'm running into a lot of disk corruption.
