Hello all,
One of my SE/30s came equipped with a graphics card (and even more (?)).
There is very little information on or about it. The two only parts of information is:
The PCB says:
MEMORY PLUS
COGAM-4 REV B
on it, and there is a EPROM, labeled:
Color SE30
A13 - IPT
I would to know more...
Hm....
macos9lives.com claims that the white CD with orange 9 on it is a non-machine-specific version of 9.2.1:

I found what seems to be an image of a Tiger retail copy, that doesn't seem to be a problem.
My problem in fact is to find a German OS 9 :(
The OS 9 CD of the CD set you linked does not work quite well, since OS 9-CD is not bootable :(
I used the exact same way to burn it like a OS 9 CD from...
Hallo all,
I recently dug through my SE/30 parts collection.
A HDD carrier sled which caught my attention.
It looks quite different but still similar to the original one, but a number of points are strange to me.
I was not able to find a picture or hint for the other variant on the Internet so...
Hello all,
I recently had some small solder work on a SE/30's analog board.
I used (no-clean) flux. Afterwards, I noticed some greyish/white residue/shimmer on the board. I cleaned the spot I've been working on using isopropyl alcohol. I got the impression that like the more I used it (on the...
Hi all,
one of my SE/30 has a problem with its CRT HV connector (see image). The rubber of this connector disintegrates into that ugly, sticky mess.
Is this a "standard" part somehow? Does anyone have a hint where I could get a replacement (I'm in Germany / the EU)?
One hint regarding a "modern" server system: in the Linux-world, there is netatalk, which is an open source implementation of AppleTalk. So you could use a Raspberry Pi, or a Linux VM or maybe even your NAS if you happen to have one (see...
Oh yes, good hint of Phipli. You won't be able to browse modern websites (is it any wonder for a computer way over 30 yrs old?). These bring so much code and complexity in the background that it takes ages on such an ancient machine like the 68030 to parse. Additionally, pretty much every...
You should immediately check whether it has been recapped. If not, consider doing it - the sooner the better. If you don't do it, you risk that the capacitors leak and literally corrode your logic board.
Also, check the age of the 1/2 AA battery. It has the potential to burst and spread acid all...
Hallo all,
I'm going to recap my Classic II's logic board and ordered tantalum caps. Just to be 100% sure:
The "non low ESR" variant is the right one?
These are the exact part numbers I ordered (KEMET is the manufacturer):

T491C476K016AT
