After entering PR#1 + RETURN key, I tried typing
PRINT “HELLO”
And the hitting RETURN key and nothing transpired.
Any other suggestions? I’ve tried several cables to rule out a faulty one. This site states there’s special pin out variance that Apple Parallel card uses from standard PC...
I have an Apple IIe with the Apple Parallel Interface card. I am attempting to get it working with an Okidata Microline 320 Turbo dot matrix printer. I am using the parallel port on the Oki in Epson FX compatibility mode.
Tried PR#1 to activate the printer, but it just hangs until I CONTROL +...
I didn’t do a close inspection of the card in question, and just took the word of the seller that it was a Super Serial card.
Turns out it’s an Apple Parallel card. Sooo… 🤷♂️
Details get missed. The aging is real.
Going to put a new post together to get help with that going forward.
Pulled out the ImageWriter II out and I’m trying to get it setup with the IIe and the Super Serial card.
Bought a new cable for the connection, so that’s taken care of.
Self test works fine.
Used the dip switch settings in the manual I found online.
Assuming up is open, down is closed...
Thinking about when I picked this computer up earlier this year, and I remembered that there was a commercially produced floppy with the box of blanks the former owner gave me.
The title is from HRM Software for the program “Sound”. When booted, it looks for an interface called “Redbox”.
The...
What is this card used for?
This interface card came from the Apple IIe I picked up awhile back.
Installed in slot #3
16 pin (2x8) male header on card. 16 pin female to female cable was connected.
No model or manufacturer other than “SCS-A1 0.788” on the back.
Cable has “I-34 19” written in...
While I'm here... Is there a program that does a drive read/write test function for the Disk II drives? I was thinking I could use Copy II Plus or similar to confirm it is all working fine, but maybe there's a specialized program?
LOL at me for not remembering how drives function on the Apple II 40 years later. My recollection was that on power up the Apple II would poll BOTH drives. Obviously not. "CATALOG,D2" does indeed bring up a catalog of the contents of Drive 2. The assumptions we all make when helping people, like...
Tested continuity between all connection pins. All read through, except pin 14, which had no signal/tone.
Replacing the 74LS132 made no change with the problem. Chip was a used (or maybe NOS) chip from reputable seller on eBay. Ordered 2 and tried both, but nothing changed on the card problem...
Replaced the 74LS125 and the drive works like a charm!
Apple II kids… Please see this thread and help me troubleshoot the Disk II interface card with a faulty Drive 2 connection:

I have an Apple Disk II interface card where Drive 2 connection does not work. Interface card is in an Apple IIe.
I have two Disk II floppy drives. Connecting either one to Drive 1 connection and the drive functions fine. Connecting either one to Drive 2 and it will not function.
Obviously...
